ABOUT THE POSITION

Join VHB's expanding Water Resources teamas a Water Resources Engineer/Designer and make a significant impact! We're seeking a skilled professional to collaborate with our expert team on cutting-edge projects in stormwater management, hydrology and hydraulics analysis, culvert and bridge design, and resiliency efforts. You'll play a key role in delivering innovative, cost-effective solutions that drive sustainable development in water resources, ecological restoration, transportation, and environmental projects. Responsibilities

    Lead tasks under the supervision of the project manager on multi-disciplinary projects with hydrologic, hydraulic, stormwater design or water quality focus including interaction with staff and clients
  • Prepare and review stormwater management and natural system design drawings and specifications
  • Prepare technical reports, plans and specifications
  • Develop project proposals, scopes of work and fee estimates
  • Attend meetings with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders to establish their needs and discuss design/permitting issues with them
  • Mentor junior staff in both technical and professional aspects
  • Responsible for project task management including task financial performance

Qualifications

  • BS in Civil/Environmental/Water Resources engineering or related discipline
  • 3+ years of professional water resources engineering and analysis experience
  • Experience preparing design plans & specifications, and preparing technical reports
  • Experience with task management and people management/mentoring
  • Experience with hydrologic/ hydraulic modeling and stormwater policy and permitting preferred
  • EIT/PE licensure preferred
  • Proficiency with relevant software including AutoCAD, ArcGIS, HydroCAD, StormCAD, Microsoft Word and Excel
