As a Senior Analyst supporting social impact & sustainability reporting, you will be trusted to assist with Alcon's Environmental, Social, & Corporate Governance efforts. You will work closely with the Director of ESG & play a crucial role in assessing and evaluating the company's performance and practices related to sustainability and responsible business practices. Primary responsibilities include:
- Data Collection and Analysis: Gather, analyze, and interpret data related to environmental, social, and governance factors. This may involve evaluating our carbon footprint, diversity and inclusion initiatives, labor practices, corporate governance structure, and more.
- ESG Reporting: Prepare and produce ESG reports and assessments for stakeholders, including investors, clients, and regulatory bodies. These reports typically provide insights into a company's sustainability efforts and relevant impact on society and the environment.
- Compliance and Regulation: Keep abreast of evolving ESG regulations and guidelines, ensuring the company adheres to the latest standards and practices.
- Industry Benchmarking: Compare Alcon's ESG performance against industry peers and competitors, identifying areas of strength and areas that need improvement.
- Impact Measurement: Assess the effectiveness of existing sustainability programs and initiatives, measuring their impact on Alcon's performance and broader societal and environmental aspects.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with internal and external parties to promote understanding and awareness of ESG issues and initiatives.
- ESG Ratings and Rankings: Respond to surveys and questionnaires from rating agencies and organizations that evaluate companies based on their ESG performance.
- Investor Relations: Work with investor relations teams to address ESG-related inquiries from potential and existing investors.
- Corporate Giving (CG): Collaborate with CG teams to integrate ESG considerations into the company's broader sustainability and social responsibility initiatives.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON: Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +10 yrs; Assoc.+6 yrs; M.S.+0 yrs)
- The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English
- 2 Years of Relevant Experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree in relevant field: sustainability, environmental science, finance, business administration, or related.
- Prior experience in controlled financial reporting environments or finance/analytical roles.
- Knowledge of ESG frameworks and standards (e.g., GRI, SASB, TCFD, UN SDGs) preferred; familiarity with sustainability reporting and ESG rating methodologies
- Desire to learn and advance in data-governance and how to implement new reporting metrics, define, document, and standardize.
