Dewberry is currently seeking a Traffic Engineering Intern for Summer 2025 to join our Transportation Group in our Bloomfield, NJ; Mount Laurel, NJ; or New York City offices.

Responsibilities

    Work with a team of engineers, planners, and technicians on roadway and transit projects.
  • Perform field investigations, assisting in traffic analysis, design, and construction support tasks.
  • Ability to learn planning and design aspects of projects.
  • Prepare construction cost estimates and quantities.
  • Design Traffic Signals and signal timings per agency standards.
  • Prepare Traffic Signal plans.


Required Skills & Required Experience

  • Pursuing a BS in Civil Engineering required.
  • Previous internship experience preferred.
  • MicroStation experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Task Management and leadership skills preferred.

Salary Range

*The hourly range for this position is $17.20-$28.20.



Program Information

Summer Intern Program

During the summer intern program, interns gain hands-on project experience, develop technical skills, and put their classroom knowledge into action. Our interns are assigned meaningful work and are given the opportunity to work on projects similar to what they would be engaging with as a full-time employee.

Our interns get the opportunity to participate in a series of workshops and events, including:

  • Networking opportunities to meet other interns, staff, and senior leaders across the business.
  • Learning about our services, projects, and clients.
  • Professional development workshops, including a career planning workshop and a DiSC assessment to learn more about themselves and how to work effectively with others.
  • Summer-long group project where interns work alongside firm leaders to address issues that will impact our future strategy.
