Job Description

SHIFTS AVAILABLE:

12 Hour 4-3 Days: Sun, Mon, Tue 6a-6p (Sat Rotating)

COMPENSATION: $17+ (based on skillset)

Job Overview

QA Lab Technician will assure that the products produced at Amcor confirm to the customers' specifications.

Job Dimensions

  • Amor Flexibles Madison has a staff of around 125 co-workers. The Quality Department is comprised of 8
  • This position is full-time and will support a 24/7 operation
  • This role has no direct reports

Principal Accountabilities

  • Follow all safety rules
  • Perform testing on products using a wide variety of defined test procedures
  • Relay test results to manufacturing and other departments in a timely manner
  • Re-test customer returns and relay information throughout the organization
  • Test incoming raw materials and verify raw material certifications
  • Prepare customer certifications, checking process capability, customer requirements and confirm via communication based on test procedures
  • Assist in corrective/preventative action both internally and externally based on test results
  • Assist in other departments when requested or as needed including customer/supplier audits

Qualifications/Requirements

Knowledge and Experience

  • 1+ year of experience in a QA or related role
  • Knowledge of metric conversion

Education and Certifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Job Specific skills and abilities

  • Understanding of machine processes is beneficial when dealing with defects and material testing
  • Good communication skills and the ability to share findings with different internal levels
  • Ability to prioritize requests from production and outside customers simultaneously
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make logical decisions under pressure
  • Ability to learn on the fly and find alternate ways of gathering information if equipment or computer network is down
  • Ability to collaborate with other members of the QA lab and Production team in decision making and coverage of production schedule
  • Must be self-motivated with ability to solve problems independently making quick, but accurate decisions
  • Ability to lift 50lbs
  • Strong organizational skills and be able to grasp concepts quickly
  • Familiarity with equipment used to test products (see list below)

Equipment Used:

  • Computer, GC, FT-IR, bar code reader, retort chamber, Gardner Haze, Instron, Bendtsen, microscope, balances, hot plates, viscometer, pH meters, Spencer impact, callipers, heat sealer, particle size analyzer, percent solids analyzer, coefficient of friction tester and miscellaneous gages
