Tenure-Track Assistant Professor Faculty Position in Creative Writing (Fiction)

Description
The Department of English at the College of the Holy Cross invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position specializing in Creative Writing (Fiction) to begin in August 2025. We will consider appointments to the tenure-track at the assistant or associate professor level.

In addition to teaching all levels of creative writing, a tenure-track hire in Creative Writing will have opportunities to develop literature offerings for the creative writing minor and English department. A typical teaching load would be four creative writing workshops and one literature offering per year. Through their teaching they will have opportunities to support the College's longstanding investment in interdisciplinary studies, including programs such as Environmental Studies; Peace and Conflict Studies; and Gender, Sexuality and Women's Studies; as well as the College's first-year Montserrat program. This position carries a 3-2 teaching load with a research leave prior to tenure review of either a full year at 80% salary or a semester at full salary, and generous sabbatical and fellowship leaves for tenured faculty. Assistant/Associate Professors receive start-up funding to support their research and professional development and have a one-course reduction in their first year of teaching (i.e., 2-2). All full-time appointments offer competitive salaries and full benefits. Qualifications
Candidates must demonstrate excellence in scholarship and a commitment to effective undergraduate teaching in the context of a liberal arts college. M.F.A. required by the beginning of the appointment.
