RK&K is searching for a Senior Class I Railroad Coordinator to support the Long Bridge Project in Alexandria VA/Washington DC. Experience with construction/maintenance of bridges and track under CSX and AREMA standards and specifications a must. Experience with Class I rail management, program management, construction, alternative delivery and owner representation is preferred. This Senior Coordinator will add value to the Long Bridge Project and Transforming Rail in Virginia. The candidate will report to the project field office in Alexandria, VA. Compensation for relocation costs for the right candidate will be provided. This project is scheduled to complete in 2030, therefore this is a long-term assignment. We are seeking to hire a highly motivated contributor with extensive CSX or other Class I railroad experience

Essential Functions



  • Support the program management team, including Project Managers, Construction Managers, Inspectors and owner, VPRA and the Contractor's Teams
  • Work directly with the Program Management Team daily to provide railroad operations training to inspection staff
  • Read and interpret track plans to include but not limited to plan and profiles, track schematics, phasing diagrams, and track communication plans
  • Review and comment on contractor work packages, oversee construction operations within and adjacent to the rail corridor, and document available track time and contractor efficiency while working adjacent to the tracks
  • Lead and manage other track coordinators if needed, and guide the team on FRA, CSX and AREMA construction requirements.



Required Skills and Experience



  • 10+ years of experience in construction oversight directly related to Class I Railroads
  • Demonstrated proficiency in FRA requirements, CSX, and AREMA specifications and standards.
  • Ability to work with contractors in an owner's representation role
  • Good communicator with various stakeholders including owner, contractors, and subconsultants
  • Safety and Quality focused
  • Familiarity with working in active rail facilities is required
  • Track safety certification is required
  • Class I rail and/or passenger rail experience required
