Part-Time Nursing Adjunct Faculty - Residential Clinical Settings

Rasmussen University is currently seeking an MSN Nurse to teach in a clinical setting within Rasmussen's industry leading nursing program in Mokena, Illinois. This is a part-time Adjunct Faculty role with hours that may vary based on our educational delivery needs and your availability. Our Nursing courses provide the knowledge, clinical skills, nursing values, and experience necessary for students to be successful in the field of Nursing. Our clinical courses provide students with opportunities to apply theoretical knowledge in healthcare settings utilizing clinical judgement and reasoning.

Responsibilities of the Residential Clinical Setting Adjunct Faculty:

The Residential Clinical Setting Adjunct Faculty is the instructor of record for the residential clinical component of the nursing course. This faculty member will be on-site at the residential healthcare affiliate, working with a small cohort of nursing students to meet course objectives within the walls of the unit or setting at pre-determined sites and times. Pre-brief meetings, residential experience, and debrief meetings with students all contribute to the required and scheduled hours of instruction.

This is an exciting hands-on opportunity for the working nurse to contribute expertise, guidance, and mentorship to a new generation of nurses, while doing so under expert guidance from peer instructors and campus-based Dean leadership.

Responsibilities of all Adjunct Faculty:

Adjunct faculty members are responsible for communicating with students and other University staff related to teaching and learning. Adjunct Faculty are expected to:



  • Communicate both verbally and in writing with students in regard to feedback on student performance on a consistent basis throughout the course and as required by the Faculty Expectations
  • Be available for students via phone, email and for individual appointments as needed for questions and academic assistance as determined and outlined in the Faculty Expectations
  • Respond to Dean/University staff in regard to performance, student issues/concerns, or items needed for faculty file/accreditation needs in a timely manner
  • Exhibit appropriate behavior, language, professional communication, demeanor and dress at all times


Reporting Relationships:

Adjunct Nursing Faculty report to the Dean of Nursing.

Requirements:



  • Master's Degree in Nursing required
  • Minimum of 1 year experience as a registered Nurse
  • Self-motivated, flexible, and able to work in a team environment with minimal supervision
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact with students, leadership, and peers
  • Excellent written communication and strong verbal communication skills in the English language
  • Must have an active registered nurse license that has never been encumbered
  • Ability to provide official transcripts for each degree earned from an accredited institution before teaching
  • Active CPR certification administered by the American Heart Association
  • Clinical faculty are required to adhere to Rasmussen University's policy on faculty immunizations and provide proper documentation.
