Job Title: Fire Protection Engineer

Location(s): Mineral, VA

• Strong communication skills both verbal and written
• Ability to lead, collaborate, or work effectively in a variety of teams, including multi-disciplinary teams

• Preference for candidates with nuclear design quals but will consider candidates with relevant fire protection system design experience and/or previous design qualifications and be willing to assist establishing a current design development qualification (certification)
• Previous experience with Simplex FP systems is a plus
• Fire protection system troubleshooting experience a plus
• Possess or meet the eligibility requirements for Grade of Professional Member of Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE).

• Perform subcontractor FP System new install design reviews
• Facilitate Commonwealth of VA, Local county staff design document reviews.
• Fire Protection System Engineer work backlog: Monitoring installed FP System performance, support preventive and corrective maintenance activities, emergent FP system performance troubleshooting

• 10 years of related experience.
• Experience as a fire protection engineer at a major commercial, industrial, or nuclear facility with a strong background in fire suppression and fire alarm system design.

• Minimum of Bachelor in Science
• BS or MS degree in fire protection engineering from an accredited university or college
