Airgas operates a modern and efficient fleet. Most vehicles are under 6 years old and equipped with driver-friendly technology, such as On Board Computers, collision avoidance technology, latest camera technology and GPS navigation.

This is a unique opportunity for the right person. As a full time employee in this particular position, Airgas will pay to send you to driving school and for you to get your CDL. We're looking for someone who has driven a box truck or similar vehicle, or someone who has worked in the medical or industrial gas industry, or food or water delivery. Prefer someone who has driven a commercial truck even if it didn't require a CDL.

How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

As aInside Sales Associate, you willlearn about all of the welding and safety equipment that Airgas sells and be able to help our customers select the best product for their needs. You will also learn all about our many medical and industrial gases and assist in the production and distribution of these products.

In particular, you will:

  • Provide excellent customer service to our walk in and remote customers

  • Sells industrial, medical and specialty gases, welding supplies and related equipment to customers

  • Advises customers on equipment and materials needed and procedures to follow to complete tasks they wish to perform.

  • Arranges for delivery of cylinders and hard-goods.

  • Stocks and maintains showroom displays.

  • Drive a class B truck delivering goods to customers when the primary driver is unavailable.

  • The Driver trainee will need to have a clean driving record and experience driving delivery vehicles even if they didn't require a CDL. They must be able to attend and pass the driver training classes that Airgas makes available and they must sign a reimbursement agreement for the costs of the training.

  • You willdelivercompressed gas cylinders, liquid cylinders and hard goods to Branches and or customers on scheduled daily route.

  • Pick up empty cylinders from customer sites.

  • Recorddeliveries and pick-ups on a load manifest.

  • Loads/unloadtruck and setup cylinders foruse.

  • Performpre and post trip vehicle inspections, documenting deficiencies utilizing Airgas forms and ensures all safety items are in good working order.

Pay range: $24-$26

Estimated application window close date: Wednesday October 30, 2024.

Incentive pay: This position is eligible for incentive compensation in the following program: quarterly bonus program.

  • Ability to attend and successfully complete CDL training classes.

  • Obtain learner's permit for CDL training.

  • Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).

  • Current Medical Examiner's Card.

  • At least one year of experience driving commercial vehicles (with or without CDL licensing) preferred.

  • Must meet all physical qualification standards imposed by regulation for drivers.

  • Ability to read and comprehend material safety data sheets.

  • Ability to handle cash transactions accurately.

  • Computer skills or some knowledge of computer order entry systems.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines.

  • Ability to routinely lift 25 - 75 lbs., and occasionally lift 76-125 lbs., with the aid of material handling equipment.

  • Ability to perform work during prolonged standing up to 8 hours.

  • Must be able to work overtime, when necessary.

  • Must be able to work with a wide variety of people with different personalities and backgrounds.
