Job Title: Logistics Coordinator

Department: Bayaud Works

Reports To: Project Manager

Location: Denver, Radisson Hotel, 4849 Bannock Street

Hours: Monday - Sunday, 6:30am to 7pm, shifts vary

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Salary: $20.50 - $23.50 per hour

Schedule: Full time

POSITION SUMMARY

This position will oversee food coordination for the Housing Works program. They will run the day-to-day operations for food, keeping the commissary stocked and ordering product when necessary.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

This position pays $20.50 - $23.50 per hour based on experience.

If your workday falls on a holiday, you will earn time and a half for those hours.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Ensure meals are provided and residents have access to food.
  • Orders food when needed.
  • Keeps commissary stocked and coordinates with Bayaud Food bank when necessary.
  • Prepares food for residents.
  • Cleans buffet area and kitchen after each meal.
  • Sets up buffet area for meals.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Represent the company professionally and have a thorough knowledge of the mission, programs, and values of the organization.
  • When time permits, work with housing navigators to gain skills.
  • Setting standards of excellence.
  • Work and be part of a team.
  • The ability to assist with whatever tasks that may arise in the work environment.



SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

None



QUALIFICATIONS

  • Prefer experience with homeless, at-risk, and vulnerable populations.
  • Understanding of the homeless population and their unique needs.
  • Possess strong verbal communication and listening skills.
  • Ability to exercise extreme patience and compassion.
  • Must be comfortable working with a diverse population
  • Comfortable in a fluid and unpredictable environment.
  • Ability to think quickly and respond calmly to stressful and emergency situations
  • Microsoft Office Skills, especially Excel, Outlook, and Word preferred.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information without breach.



EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and or 2 years food service experience.

Must get Serve Safe Certified within 60 days of hire at Bayaud's expense.

LANGUAGE SKILLS



  • Ability to read, interpret, and create documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Conflict resolution and negotiating skills.



MATHEMATICAL SKILLS



  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Proven budgeting skills. Good fiscal management skills.



REASONING ABILITY



  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.



CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS



  • Valid driver's license, proof of motor vehicle insurance. Should be able to be insured by Bayaud's motor vehicle insurance carrier.

The ability to move boxes of food and supplies.

WORK ENVIRONMENT



  • The work environment will be a combination of

    • In a temperature-controlled hotel
    • In the kitchen and dining area in the hotel
    • Possibly on occasion in the field in the Colorado weather
    • Other customer locations





ALTERNATIVE WORK PLAN

This position is not eligible for an "Alternative Work Plan". All duties must be performed at the hotel or at various work sites. Special projects will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

TRAVEL

Travel will include:



  • Food Bank
  • Pick up supplies or items needed for work sites
  • Meetings or trainings at the main offices
  • Other travel as needed



May drive personal vehicle to work locations and will be reimbursed at the federal rate for mileage, refer to employee handbook

OTHER

Equipment Used: PC, telephone, copy machine, fax, postage meter, calculator
