SHIFT: 6:00am - 6:00pm, rotating

Job Responsibilities:



  • Makes specific job assignments as prescribed by the master schedule.
  • Monitors the output and efficiency of the Prepress department with special emphasis on quality control.
  • Communicate, facilitate, and develop plans between scheduling and other departments to allocate personnel, tools, materials, and other resources daily to meet current and future production needs. Provides technical details to clarify questions or problems with job.
  • Performs various jobs within the department when emergencies or overload conditions develop.
  • Reviews daily work in progress and ensures that personnel have correct instructions and specifications. Monitors production output with emphasis on production standards and quality standards.
  • Provides any special instructions for upcoming jobs as required and recommends plans for production improvements.
  • Maintains and compiles time reporting records, down time, etc. Performs any clerical work related to position. Requisitions supplies for department and assists in maintaining inventory records. Assists in producing preparatory estimates in consultation with the Department Manager.
  • Maintains production schedules to desired requirements.
  • Recommends equipment repairs, parts, and supplies. Issues work orders for the maintenance of all equipment in the Prepress department and designated area. Informs Department Manager of personnel requirements, complaints, and successfully achieved milestones.
  • Conducts department personnel training/coaching including apprentice programs.
  • Ensure effective shift hand offs if necessary
  • Administers preventative and operational maintenance to department's equipment. Administers company policies and procedures.
  • Recommends required overtime needs to meet established deadlines.
  • Maintains good housekeeping.
  • Ensure that internal and external customer expectations are met.
  • Lead by example in technical and behavior skills critical to establishing cooperation, accountability, and ownership over their respective work areas.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:



  • Vocation/technical degree and/or equivalent experience required
  • Five years' experience in all phases of pre-press operations required

  • Previous lead experience preferred




Knowledge and Skills:



  • Extensive knowledge of all production processes related to preparatory activities, equipment, materials, products, and personnel.
  • Ability to plan and lead effectively.
  • Ability to anticipate problems and head them off.
  • Knowledge of general maintenance procedures.


Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:



  • Frequent reaching, bending, and stooping.
  • Ability to visually inspect all work for defects.
  • Frequent sitting
  • Manual dexterity and the ability to perform repetitive tasks.


The national pay range for this role is $30.00 - 40.00/hour. The pay range may be slightly lower or higher based on the geographic location. The actual pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to: education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift and location. In addition to base salary, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include participation in a bonus, commission or incentive program.
