The East Carolina University College of Nursing ( ECUCON) seeks applicants for a full-time fixed-term position. Academic appointments will be commensurate with the qualifications of the applicant.

The ECUCON has over 500 graduate students including over 100 DNP and 35 PhD students. The College of Nursing is a part of the Academic Affairs Division which includes Allied Health, Dental Science, and a School of Medicine committed to excellence in teaching and scientific inquiry. Additionally, strong interprofessional research opportunities exist in varied centers and institutes within the division and University, such as the Center for Health Disparities, North Carolina Agro-Medicine Institute, and Diabetes and Obesity Institute.
Job Duties
The College of Nursing is seeking an Adult Gerontology-Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AG- ACNP) faculty to be responsible for teaching a variety of courses in the newly developed AG- ACNP concentration. All courses are offered through a distance education format. Faculty may also be asked to teach courses in other options and College of Nursing departments depending on faculty teaching needs and expertise. The faculty will report directly to the Department Chair for Advanced Nursing Practice and Education ( ANPE).
Specific responsibilities include:
* Planning, teaching and evaluating primarily AG- ACNP courses.
* Collaborate with all ANPE faculty and continuously evaluate and revise, as necessary, the courses and curriculum based on current evidenced-based practice.
* Ensures that AG- ACNP students are evaluated for various course and program outcomes.
* Teaches selected courses in area of expertise.

Minimum Education/Experience
Five years of substantive advanced practice in the acute care setting.
AG- ACNP or ACNP national certification.
License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation
A valid non-restricted NC nursing license is required upon employment
Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education
A doctoral degree is preferred for fixed-term positions. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions and conferred by the time of hire. Formal graduate teaching and academic experience including delivery of educational content in online formats.
