ECU Health and Acadia Healthcare have announced plans to build a state-of the-art, 144-bed behavioral health facility that will open in the spring of 2025. The new facility will include 24 inpatient beds dedicated to the mental health needs of children and adolescents.

Job Duties |
ECU Health Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine is looking to fill a vacancy for Pediatric/clinical child & Adolescent psychologist. We are developing an integrated multidisciplinary Child and Adolescent team to serve eastern North Carolina. This position will provide leadership, evidence-based psychosocial programming, and training to ensure appropriate intervention for patients. We are specifically interested in those who specialize in early developmental disorders (e.g. autism, developmental delays), Hematology/oncology, and trauma, but welcome individuals with other specialties to apply.
Positions is clinically focused and includes opportunities for inpatient and outpatient services.
Responsibilities include:
* Assessment, intervention, and consultation in pediatric subspecialty or primary care clinics. Currently, the most needed clinic is
NICU follow up clinic.
* Provide diagnostic testing as clinically indicated including testing for
ADHD, mood disorders, and autism spectrum disorders.
* Support psychotropic medication management prescribed by Child psychiatrist focusing on treatment adherence, side effects, and other complications.
* Provide leadership and oversight for group-based interventions.
* Provide family and individual-based psychotherapy using evidence-based techniques including but not limited to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (
CBT), Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (
PCIT), Family System Based therapies, and Parent Management Training.
* Engaging with medical residency programs in Psychiatry, Pediatrics, Internal Medicine-Pediatrics, and
NICU Fellowship.
* Clinical and research supervision of PhD students.
* Participation in didactic training for Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry fellowship.
* Collaboration with Child and Adolescent therapy team and case managers as appropriate.
Employment in this position provides eligibility to participate in the

Minimum Education/Experience |
Minimum Education/Experience
* Doctoral degree (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) from a
APA or
CPA-accredited program in Clinical Counseling, or School Psychology.
* Successful completion of an
APA approved accredited internship program.
* Postdoctoral Fellowhship in Pediatric Psychology or Clinical Child & Adolescent Psychology.
* Interest and experience working with underserved hospitalized youth and their families
* Experience working collaboratively with other mental health professionals as part of a multidisciplinary team. |
License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation |
- Unrestricted license as a Licensed Psychologist issued by the North Carolina Psychology Board to practice in North Carolina (or license eligible).
- Evidence of Board Certification by the National Registry of Health Care Providers in Psychology or that you are eligible for appropriate board certifications as specified in the ECU Physicians Credentialing Plan.

* Training in the BayleyTM -4 or
ADOS-2 or a willingness to become certified.
* Bilingual in English and Spanish.
