Organizational Unit Overview
The Division of Student Affairs comprises over 30 departments, each responsible for providing various student support, services, and educational programs accessible to the university community. With over 300 full-time employees and over 1200 student workers, the Division supports Pirate success through environments that enhance student development, engagement, belonging, well-being, and career readiness. Job Duties
This position supervises one professional Neighborhood Service Manager who in turn, oversees both of the Neighborhood Services Offices. This position also coordinates all recruitment for the Resident Advisors and Graduate Assistant within the Residence Life program. This position also advises the Residence Hall Association and provides training to the Coordinators who in turn, advise the Hall Governments. This Assistant Director oversees the programmatic model for the Residence Life Program. This position also supervises one Graduate Assistant for half time; serves on the Residence Life Management Team and as a member of the Residence life Consultation Team. This position is designated as a mandatory reporting position.

Neighborhood Services Offices

  • Supervise one professional NSO Manager who in turn, supervises one NSO Manager and is responsible for all NSO operations.
  • Assists with training of all levels of NSO staff
  • Coordinates the safety inspection process each semester and works in tandem with the NSO Manager and the Residence Life Conduct Office.
  • Coordinate courtesy room management.


Programming

  • Establishes model/philosophy utilized for programming, RA/Resident 1:1 interactions, etc., which is all encompassing, including: Academics, Community Development, Connections, Education, Vocation, and Safety.
  • Creates/utilizes needs assessments and other tools to enable the staff to assure that needs of students are met in a manner that supports student development.
  • Trains all levels of staff on the Programming model, philosophy, and expectations.
  • Ensures that consistent, written, timely follow-up occurs with RAs regarding their programming performance and meeting the established expectations.
  • Implements and coordinates a semesterly recognition to honor outstanding programs.
  • Represents Campus Living on major program committees, opening initiatives, and other educational events.

Leadership

  • Advises the Residence Hall Association and meets regularly with the President and Executive Board.
  • Coordinates logistics or registration for all memberships and conferences, including: NCARH, SAACURH, and NACURH.
  • Advises the NRHH Advisor(s) and provides guidance.
  • Trains all RHA Officers and Members and works with RHA to train Hall Government Advisors.
  • Supervises one GA half time who helps with RHA advising, programs, etc.

Recruitment (18%):

  • Coordinates all aspects of marketing and recruitment of RAs and GAs, including: eRezLife, social media, website information, etc.
  • Coordinates process for RAs who wish to re-apply for another year of employment.
  • Liaison with the RARST (Resident Advisor Recruitment and Selection Team) and meet one-on-one with Team Leader on an on-going basis. Attend all RARST meetings and events.

Administration

  • Serves as member of Residence Life Management Team.
  • Serves on Residence Life Consultation Team duty.
  • Is considered an "Essential Management Position" in times of crisis, severe weather, etc.
  • Helps Conduct Office with some cases and community conflict management.
  • Completes special projects as assigned by Director of Residence Life or designee.

Minimum Education/Experience
Masters degree in College Student Personnel or related field and a minimum of four years live-in residence hall experience.
