Summary: We are seeking a meticulous and highly organized Serial Item Manager to oversee the management of serialized inventory items. The Serial Item Manager will be responsible for tracking, managing, and maintaining serialized assets throughout their lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a deep understanding of inventory management practices.
Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:
- Manage over 1,500 or more stockage lines and transfers or disposes of excess supply as required
- Process new item requests by cataloging and implementing purchase procedures and determines requirement for warehouse stock
- Perform quality control surveillance of supply warehouse and all storage areas.
- Research and resolve aged due-ins and overdue items
- Consults with and advises customers on requirements, status of requests, availability of requested items, substitutes, etc.
- Updates quantity in system based on inventory checks
- Track urgent recalls and safety messages for medical supplies
- Validate quantity by conducting system searches, coordinating with customers, and provide gathered information to affect manufacturer
- Review, inspect, and process all turn-ins for recalled items
- Provide weekly reports on logistics statuses for inventory
Qualifications
Necessary Skills and Knowledge:
- Knowledge and proficiency in the use of systems such as DMLSS, GCSS-A, AESIP, and TEWLS
- Knowlege of cataloging and creating NSNs
- Requesting new NSNs
- Sourcing initiatives with DLA
- Monitored orders through DLA
- Experience updating BOMs (Billing of Material)
- Ability to use MS Excel and to manipulate data to generate reports
- Strong understanding of inventory management principles and practices
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in inventory management software and tools
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards for serialized items
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum 3-4 years experience in warehouse distribution, medical supply chain, or the like
- Able to obtain CAC
- Previous experience with the Department of Defense
