**Approximately 50% travel required**

Strategic Campaigns and Pursuits' (SCP's) primary goal is to support HDR in winning work. We proactively partner with local teams on Strategic Pursuit opportunities to gain market share and to elevate HDR's stature in the industry. A pursuit refers to a tailored marketing effort that aims at winning new business or maintaining existing client relationships. Pursuit Management responsibilities include pursuit coordination, pursuit, and proposal management, and resourcing the appropriate marketing support team members, including graphic artists, photographers, and technical writers.

The SCP Pursuit Manager also supports Strategic Campaigns, including the cross-business group (BGX) initiative, BGX key opportunities, and other company initiatives. As a BGX Program support team member, this person is responsible for process management, reporting, fostering collaboration, and mentoring other team members.

Tasks also include facilitation, writing, editing, note taking, informational research, explaining technical engineering concepts, developing graphics concepts, and coordinating with other team members.

Must have effective communication skills, capability of collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams, and ability to motivate others. Position requires up to 50% travel. The SCP Pursuit Manager reports to the SCP Section Manager.


Job Responsibilities
Leadership Responsibilities

* Mentor and train new staff.

* Lead submittal quality efforts; review proposals and presentations; and participate in reviews as needed.

* Ability to elevate the standard practices of the SCP.

* Meeting facilitation for SCP and pursuit teams

* In-depth understanding of HDR's marketing philosophies, strategic planning efforts, and ability to facilitate training efforts.

* Help BGs and market sectors identify risks and conflicts of interest with BGX program pursuits.

* Document and promote Best Practices for BGX Programs, opportunities, and related pursuit efforts.

* Lead pursuits and campaigns per business group request.

Other Responsibilities

* Partner with the business groups and pursuit leaders

* Monitor and encourage the success of SCP initiatives.

* Support client management efforts as requested.

* Participates in or hosts debrief, and lessons learned meetings.

* Partner with the marketing communications team to prepare company-wide qualifications and marketing collateral materials in compliance with branding standards and in alignment with our strategic plan.

* Work with and support business groups in the management, facilitation, and improvement of their strategic pursuits program.

* Manage pursuit processes and follow quality procedures for document production.

* Collaborate with leaders to ensure effective leadership and identification of pursuits.

* Lead project pursuits, including planning and facilitating pursuit team development, scheduling, pursuit meetings, strategies, actions, themes, submittals, presentations, and follow-ups.

* Lead development of marketing submittals and presentations, and coach presentation teams

* Maintain awareness and network with potential competitors and teaming partners to stay abreast of industry activity and direction.

* Stay current with company service offerings and business area contacts.

* Implement company marketing policies, procedures, standards, quality assurance, and risk management.

* Perform other duties as needed.

Preferred Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Deep knowledge of the A/E/C industry's standard approach to procurement of professional services, 12 years of experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate and inspire others
  • Ability and desire to travel and engage with others in-person
  • Demonstrated experience in writing compelling content based on information from technical staff

Required Qualifications
  • A minimum of 5 years relevant industry experience
  • Demonstrated "self-starter" with a history of completing projects with limited oversight
  • Experience in sales and developing effective win strategies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud applications, including InDesign

The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full-time regular positions. Las Vegas, Nevada: $68,880 - $98,400; Denver, Colorado: $75,768 - $108,240; Bellevue, Washington: $79,212 - $113,160; San Francisco, California: $89,544 - $127,920.
