Senior Compensation Specialist - Remote

Pay: $65,000 annually (experience will be compensated)

Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week

Shift times: Monday-Friday, typical business hours

Location: Remote within 5-state affiliate (Iowa, Nebraska, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota)

Minimum Qualifications:



  • Ten years as a human resources generalist, including job description drafting and evaluation
  • Five years as a compensation specialist, including compensation survey data and market analysis platforms
  • Experience supporting a compensation strategy, including communication and education on an organization's strategy
  • Demonstrated commitment to transparency and accountability in compensation methodology
  • Experience maintaining a job family, career level and pay grade system
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with presenting/communicating data and analysis


Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities:



  • Engage with colleagues to understand organizational strategies, objectives, and policies that impact the organization
  • Main point of contact for setting compensation for new hires, transfers and promotions
  • Main point of contact for job description drafting and evaluation
  • Maintain a job family, career level, and pay grade system
  • Facilitate transparency and accountability in compensation methodology
  • Serve as second-level review for payroll processing
  • Monitor compliance with federal, state and local laws related to compensation, including FLSA regulations
  • Create and send internal job transfers, promotions, and salary adjustment letters, communicating changes in a timely manner
  • Create and run reports using PayFactors platform
  • Provide project management assistance to the department and other stakeholders as needed
  • Maintain ongoing knowledge of latest trends, best practices, and laws related to human resources, recruiting, total compensation
