The Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) Talk Manager manages the WWP Talk Program, a telephonic, short-term emotional support program, and oversees the work of the WWP Talk team as they provide short-term, goal-focused emotional support to wounded service members and their families to improve their resilience and psychological well-being.

- Manage a team of WWP Talk staff members, mentoring them, developing their skills and abilities, and supporting them as they provide short-term, goal-focused telephonic emotional support to wounded service members and their families who are dealing with invisible injuries.
- Oversee execution of initial and ongoing training for Talk program teammates.
- Support WWP Talk Director with training content development, continually evaluating the Talk training program's effectiveness, and recommending refinements and enhancements.
- Ensure effective workload planning and work schedules that support organizational objectives and warrior expectations.
- Monitor team performance. Collect and analyze relevant data and prepare statistical reports with performance metrics to demonstrate WWP Talk Program's productivity, quality, and efficiency.
- Promote a supportive working environment where employees are encouraged to proactively address issues and solve problems.
- Establish effective working relationships and work collaboratively with WWP teammates.
- Plan and manage the program services delivered to Talk program participants. Evaluate the WWP Talk program and identify continuous improvement opportunities. Maintain current knowledge of available, relevant technologies and best practices to enhance efficiencies.
- Participate in strategic planning activities. Participate in developing and managing the department budget.

EXPERIENCE Requirements
- Four years of experience working with and assisting military and veteran populations in support of their development and readjustment.
- Three years of experience working with and providing support to wounded service members dealing with health issues and invisible injuries, e.g., brain injury, post-traumatic stress disorder, and combat stress.
- Three years of staff management experience. Three years of experience successfully performing in a WWP programmatic position, or program development, or program management experience, may be substituted for three years of staff management experience.

- Three years of mental health case management experience.

EDUCATION Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, rehabilitation counseling, case management, or related mental health field. Equivalent combination of education, experience, training, or certification may be considered in lieu of degree.
