Position Purpose	The Production Space and Cage Manager supports all Film & Media Studies courses that include video, sound, and/or time-based components. The manager will collaborate with faculty, staff, and students to carry out curricular goals for Film & Media Studies, including planning, equipment maintenance, and curricular support for digital media. In addition to the equipment cage, the manager will maintain the studios and work with faculty to develop and deliver workshops that advance course needs and support student projects.
Description	The Production Space and Cage Manager supports all Film & Media Studies courses that include video, sound, and/or time-based components. The manager will collaborate with faculty, staff, and students to carry out curricular goals for Film & Media Studies, including planning, equipment maintenance, and curricular support for digital media. In addition to the equipment cage, the manager will maintain the studios and work with faculty to develop and deliver workshops that advance course needs and support student projects.
Required Qualifications - Education and Yrs Exp	Bachelors or equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Qualifications - Skills, Knowledge and Abilities	Education: BA or BFA degree in Electronic Media, Film, Graphic Design, Studio Art, or related areas; and/or a combination of education in different disciplines. Candidates will have experience working in education in K-12, higher ed, or community settings. Required Qualifications - Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Equipment: Mac Film Equipment inventory experience Creative problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications	MFA degree in related field. Experience working with 16mm film and video Software: Adobe Creative Suite, including Premiere, Photoshop, Illustrator, Animate, After Effects, InDesign, and Audition; Twine. Experience as an artist, filmmaker, designer, or interdisciplinary practitioner. Basic knowledge of data wrangling and data visualization, Rhino, AutoDesk, Autocad, Revitt, coding, physical computing (such as Raspberry PI and Arduino) and/or willingness to learn is a plus.

Key Accountabilities

Description	Vending equipment for student projects and classroom instruction. This includes ensuring equipment is in working order and kits are complete; assisting with tracking, inventory, and maintenance of equipment; and collaborating with the Technical Directors on equipment upkeep, maintenance, and check-out systems.
Percentage Of Time	20%

Description	Collaborating with faculty and staff on digital and innovative components of courses and proposals for new equipment.
Percentage Of Time	10%

Description	Assisting students in problem-solving project ideas from concept to realization during courses, x-hours, and other high-demand times, which may include 1-2 evenings per week.
Percentage Of Time	20%

Description	Working on special projects as needed for Film & Media Studies to provide video/sound support for courses and extracurricular department activities.
Percentage Of Time	15%

Description	Teaching safe handling of equipment, spaces and materials, and maintaining areas for cleanliness as well as safety.
