Job Description: This position is open to candidates located in Kentucky and surrounding counties in Southern Indian within the Louisville Metro area. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS 1. Conducting a survey of coalitions and other organizations providing prevention services focused on substance use and related consequences; 2. Conducting a survey of technical assistance needs of coalitions and other organizations providing prevention services focused on substance use and related consequences; 3. Supporting the implementation of a network analysis at the community level to determine key stakeholders who broker engagement at the community level for substance use prevention and related consequences; 4. Planning, coordinating, and implementing a statewide expansion of a current or newly conceived substance use prevention project; 5. Planning, coordinating, and implementing delivery of training of coalitions and other prevention-service providing coalitions and organizations focused on substance use and related consequences; 6. Providing technical assistance to prevention-service providing coalitions and other organizations on the best practice of collaboration for sustainability of efforts; 7. Working collaboratively with other staff members of Prevention 8. Providing support to RPCs to ensure alignment of collaboration efforts with needs-assessment driven work plan. 9. Developing and implementing region-wide strategies that promote community collaboration; 10. Encouraging partnerships between RPCs and prevention service delivering coalitions and agencies; 11. Supporting collection of community-level needs assessment data through evaluation activities such as focus groups, interviews, and environmental scans; 12. Entering all service data into the Prevention Data System; and 13. Supporting other RPC staff as needed to integrate new partnerships into prevention activities; 14. Working collaboratively with other collaboration prevention specialists across the state to leverage resources; and 15. Working collaboratively with other members of the statewide SOR team to leverage resources EDUCATION * Bachelor's Degree in a human services field (e.g., Addiction, Behavioral Sciences, Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Public Health, Sociology, Education). Master's degree in prevention-related field preferred. * Possession of a valid driver's license and access to reliable means of transportation for job-related use required * Ability to apply for a Certified Prevention Specialist certification within two years of hire EXPERIENCE * Two years+ of experience working in a human services field * Knowledge of chemical dependency and prevention issues, including early detection strategies. PHYSICAL DEMANDS/REQUIREMENTS * Position requires lifting 20 pounds maximum, with frequent lifting and/or carrying of items weighing up to 10 pounds. * Moderate-to-heavy travel with exposure to weather elements and potential travel hazards. * Employment may require performing tasks on an unplanned or occasional basis that involve exposure to blood or body fluids or tissue. * Reliable transportation for frequent regional travel.
