Job Summary:

The Cyber Security and Compliance Intern will learn about the basics of information and data risks, will be engaged to assist with client projects, and internal initiatives. The Intern will work alongside more experienced professionals where they will conduct PCI compliance projects, cyber maturity assessments, and other cyber related tasks. The intern will be involved with operationalizing client processes, policies, and controls.

Job Duties:



  • Assists with conducting a variety of security assessments, readiness reports, and other related tasks that may include Payment Card Industry (PCI); National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST); Center for Internet Security (CIS); The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)
  • Documents client meetings to socialize with the team following the meeting
  • Manages individual project tasks related to cyber security and compliance projects
  • Assists the team with developing client reports, including findings and recommendations
  • Assists with developing data flow diagrams and maintains updates of diagrams over time
  • Conducts research for client projects to assist in providing up to date options or solutions available on the market
  • Budgets time and assists with multiple project requests simultaneously, as well as the ability to monitor project tasks and risks
  • Travels required as necessary
  • Other duties as required


Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Education:



  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program, required
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Technology, Computer Science, Information Assurance, Business Management, or Finance, preferred


Experience:



  • Prior internship, externship, or professional experience offering experience with data management, technology, compliance, and/or business management, preferred


Software:



  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, required
  • Microsoft SharePoint, preferred
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Visio, preferred
  • Experience with Google, GoogleSuite, and other platforms, preferred


Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:



  • Ability to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels of the firm
  • Capacity to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and client personnel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and research skills related to the organization of information
  • Solid organizational skills especially ability to meet project deadlines with a focus on details
  • Ability to successfully multi-task while working independently or within a group environment
  • Proven ability to work in a deadline-driven environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously



Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.

California Range: $20.00/hr - $39.00/hr
NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $20.00/hr - $36.00/hr
Washington Range: $20.00/hr - $39.00/hr
Washington DC Range: $30.00/hr - $33.00/hr
