Position SummaryThe
University of New Mexico ("UNM") School of Law invites applications
for a faculty position teaching business associations, contracts, and other
business and commercial law topics. This faculty position is a full-time tenured or
tenure-track position starting in Fall 2025. Entry-level and experienced
teachers are encouraged to apply. Courses taught by this faculty member
could include, in addition to business associations and contracts, contract
drafting, business planning, various intellectual property classes, and
commercial law courses such as the UCC. We seek
candidates with scholarly distinction or promise, as well as a commitment to
excellence in teaching.

Offering a J.D.
degree, the UNM School of Law is nationally recognized for innovative classes
that combine law practice skills training with doctrinal instruction and a 10:1
student-to-faculty ratio. Our faculty is one of the most ethnically and
racially diverse faculties in the country and our student body is similarly
diverse.

We
value candidates from varied backgrounds and perspectives in order to enhance
student learning and the faculty's mission of research, teaching, service, and
community engagement in New Mexico, the United States, and the world. Women,

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Candidates must possess a J.D. or equivalent legal degree

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two years of post-J.D. legal work experience
  • Demonstrated scholarly research and writing ability
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching in diverse settings
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with other faculty members or other professional colleagues
  • Demonstrated commitment to service
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equality, inclusion, and student success
