Position Description

Receive written schedule breakdown from Supervisor. Take required parts and necessary quantities from racks and storage areas to appropriate staging areas at assembly line or subassembly stations, using powered industrial trucks and manual hand trucks. Parts are placed on floor or raised up on tables. Extra parts are taken to appropriate storage areas. Relocate empty skids and baskets to appropriate areas. Miscellaneous scrap, cardboard, and debris is collected and disposed of accordingly. Assist Supervisor and Assemblers as necessary. Keep department neat, clean, and orderly. Report inadequate parts and quantities to Supervisor. Identifies/labels the appropriate part number on all parts before transferring to new or different location.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Take required parts and quantities, as specified by schedule breakdown, from storage areas to appropriate assembly line staging areas and subassembly stations using powered industrial trucks and manual hand trucks in accordance with all safe operating procedures.
  2. Remove empty skids and baskets from assembly area.
  3. Remove unused parts from staging areas and relocate to appropriate storage areas.
  4. Report inadequate parts and part quantities to Supervisor.
  5. Keep floor free of scrap, cardboard, and debris.
  6. Works eight-hour shift concurrently with other plant operations. Periodic daily and weekend overtime as production schedules demand.
  7. Record time and production.
  8. May be assigned task of training new/transferred employees as required.
  9. Other essential functions as may be assigned.
Required Education & Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent.

Requires reading, writing, adding, subtracting, ability to operate powered industrial trucks and manual hand trucks, and following of instructions. Must be able to successfully master all elements of training control document for this job.
