Under minimal supervision, the Learning Environments Manager supervises, plans, and implements Practice Based Coaching and ensures that the Learning Environments are assessed for quality improvement. The Learning Environments Manager oversees of implementation of systems, safe environments, Curriculum Fidelity, Environmental Rating Scales, CLASS, and school readiness goals, as well as dissemination of results to staff, parents, board of directors, Policy Council, and funders. The Learning Environments Manager works in collaboration with the Early Education Program Manager to coordinate Practice Based Coaching, data collection and aggregation as well as collaboration and coordination of program services and reporting. The manager interprets Federal and State regulations and policies, develops, and implements staff development plans and training needs, oversees the Learning Environments and ongoing monitoring to ensure that all requirements are met. The Learning Environments Manager is responsible for implementing, maintaining, and supporting CCRC's/Division KPIs and program evaluation.

This position is full-time and may require working a non-traditional work schedule such as evenings and weekends, as needed. This position will start as an on-site position at Sylmar office location.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Within the team structure, provide quality education services for children enrolled in the CCRC directly operated early education child care centers program which include the following responsibilities: Oversight and Supervision of Staff (60%), and Compliance & On-going Monitoring (40%)

Job Specifications

Minimum Required

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Human Development, Family Consumer Sciences, or related field. Must have 3 units related to Infant/Toddler Development.
  • Experience: 5 years of appropriate experience, preferably to include direct experience running a center or education program and supervising staff who work with preschool age children.
  • Professional/Technical Certifications:
    • Must hold a Site Supervisor Permit or above based on the California Teacher Credential (CTC) Matrix
  • Travel: This position requires 10% travel. Travel will involve attending meetings, training, CCRC sponsored events and conferences locally a few times a month. Some overnight travel may be required. May use CCRC company vehicles, when available or personal vehicle and will be subject to Driver Management Policy requirements (i.e., valid California Driver's License, automobile insurance and a clean driving record required).
  • Work Schedule: Fulltime. Hours may vary according to the needs of center, families, and staff, and may require working A non-traditional work schedule including early mornings, late evenings, and weekends
  • Work environment: This is an onsite position that is assigned to the Sylmar Office location and some activities will require field days at the centers.
  • Background & Health Clearance Requirements: Head Start / CCP Criminal Records (e.g., Live Scan Fingerprinting), Child Abuse Index Check, Sexual Offender Registry, Health, Tuberculosis (TB) test and Immunization clearances required.

Background check required. As a grant-funded Agency supporting Children and Family Services, CCRC conducts background checks commensurate with the role to verify candidate qualifications (criminal history, employment history / experience, education, reference checks) and ensure grant compliance. Specific roles may have additional verification / clearance to the standard background check as part of the recruitment and selection process, including:

Live Scan Clearance / DOJ Fingerprinting: For positions working directly with the public in a child/ community care or child / community care adjacent setting (CA Health and Safety Code Section 1596.871 and/or Head Start Program Performance Standards 1302.90).

Health Clearance: For positions working directly with the public in a child/ community care or child / community care adjacent setting or working with "at risk" populations, CA Code of Regulations Title 22, *101216, CA Health and Safety Code 1596.7995, and/or Head Start Program Performance Standards 1302.93)

MVR / DMV clearance in accordance with CCRC's liability insurance provisions: For positions where driving is required.

Child Development Permit: For positions working in an educational capacity (California Education Code Sections 44242.5, 44340, and 44341)

CPR / Pediatric CPR certification: For certain identified positions working directly with the public in a child/ community care or child / community care adjacent setting (CA Health & Safety Code 1596.865 - 1596.866)

Federal Debarment Checks: For positions acting in a principal capacity to federal funds (Head Start Program Performance Standards 1304.11, Code of Federal Regulations Title 2 Grants and Agreements 2.180.320 and 2.180.995)
