We are seeking a Trademark Docket Specialist for our Minneapolis, Denver, or Salt Lake City office. In this role, you will support all aspects of U.S. and foreign trademark, copyright and domain name docketing across Dorsey's IP offices. Are you passionate about IP? In this role, you will:

- Accurately docket new trademark application filings, incoming office actions, formalities and all other correspondence related to the filing, prosecution, opposition and litigation of trademark, copyright, and domain name matters.
- Review and comprehend documents submitted or received from the USPTO, U.S. Copyright Office, international trademark offices, foreign agents, and domain name registrars to ensure all deadlines are identified and docketed in accordance with established practice procedures.
- Maintain accurate trademark docket records and respective matter information in the IP docket database; may include conducting periodic system audits.
- Monitor outstanding open due dates in IP docket database and follow up with attorneys and internal clients' teams or advance due dates in accordance with existing country law and established practice procedures.
- Prepare, maintain, distribute and schedule various matter and docket reports to attorneys and internal client teams in accordance with established practice procedures.
- Create new docket records in the IP docket database.
- Assist with intake and transfer-outs, and respective auditing of all trademark transfer files; accurately update the IP docket database accordingly.
- Provide assistance with overflow docketing and/or coverage as needed.
- Assist docket staff, attorneys and support staff with other tasks as needed.
- Serve as senior resource for docket procedures and policies; may perform lead docket activities including training.
- Perform and delegate other tasks as necessary or as directed.

What we're looking for:

- High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- At least 3-5 years of trademark docketing experience.
- Expert knowledge of national and international trademark law.
- Expert knowledge of, and exposure to, docketing databases; Foundation IP is preferred.
- Expert ability to interface with USPTO, WIPO, and other websites regarding trademark matters.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage a large volume of action items in a timely manner.
- Expert ability to work and communicate effectively with firm personnel and clients.
- Expert ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Expert ability to prepare accurate, highly detailed work; excellent proofreading skills.
- Expert computer skills including basic word processing and data entry.
- Expert ability to organize information using various manual and computer formats.
- Ability to work independently with little supervision.
- Ability to work overtime if needed.

Preferred:

- At least 6 years of trademark, copyright and domain name docketing experience in a law firm environment.

The pay range for this position in Colorado only is $29.00 to $36.00 per hour.

This range represents Dorsey's good faith estimate of likely compensation at the time of posting. Actual pay will be dependent upon a number of factors, including the candidate's experience, qualifications, skills and location and may fall outside of the range indicated.
