Senior Project Management Specialist

Cherokee Nation Strategic Programs (CNSP) is seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Management Specialist to provide technical support of the Civil Engineer Project Management Body of Knowledge, to include, assisting in development, update, and coordination of UFCs, UFGS, AFIs, AFPs, AFHs, DAFIs, DAFMANs, playbooks and Task Order project management guidance. This role involves managing the development of technical specifications, design and construction documents, ensuring adherence to building codes, and applying DoD criteria governing design and construction.

  • Estimated Starting Salary Range for Senior Project Management Specialist: Pay commensurate with experience.

Senior Project Management Specialist Responsibilities Include:



  • Provide project management expertise, specifically related to CMIS (Construction
  • Management Information System) implementation, and project management process standardization.
  • Develop and review of UFCs, UFGS, AFIs, AFPs, AFHs, DAFIs, DAFMANs, playbooks and Task Order project management guidance.
  • Update Project Management community websites
  • Provide support for facility project programming documents including scope verification/refinement, cost estimate reviews, and editing/drafting revised documents
  • Ensure adherence to building codes and DoD criteria.
  • Assist the Government in preparation and delivery of presentations on training programs and courses in the Project Management subject area of expertise
  • Oversee the creation of criteria documents, including Engineering Technical Letters, Unified Facilities Criteria, and other AF guidance and Instruction documentation.
  • Provide advice, expertise, and assistance to Government personnel in the areas of facility criteria and guide specifications, various technical submittal reviews, recommended resolutions for construction and/or engineering quality issues, assistance with new technology evaluations, assist with infrastructure surveys and inspections, and help develop transfer efforts into guidance and other special studies
  • Travel will be required to the various Air Force bases (CONUS & OCONUS)
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned


Senior Project Management Specialist Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:



  • Minimum of 10 years of experience overseeing and/or managing DoD construction projects.
  • Accredited Associate's degree or higher in a design or construction industry-related field.
  • Demonstrated technical expertise in criteria development and review, including Engineering Technical Letters, Unified Facilities Criteria, and other DoD guidelines.
  • Proven experience in the development of technical specifications, design, and construction documents.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Expertise in the application of building codes and DoD criteria governing design and construction.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring compliance with all relevant standards and regulations.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
