Senior General Engineer

Cherokee Nation Strategic Programs (CNSP) is seeking a highly experienced Senior General Engineer to provide technical support and facilities planning in support of the Facility Design & Construction Standards and Practices (FDCS) program, to include FDCSP knowledge management, assisting in development, update, and coordination of UFCs, UFGS, AFIs, AFPs, AFHs, DAFIs, DAFMANs, playbooks and Task Order design and construction guidance based on Criteria Change Requests (CCRs) submitted through the Criteria Management System (CMS). This role involves ensuring compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) design and construction criteria, design reviews/assessments and technical reviews of planning and design documents of FSRM and MILCON projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in AF Planning and Design standards and practices in the execution of FSRM & MILCON projects.

  • Estimated Starting Salary Range for Senior General Engineer: Pay commensurate with experience.

Senior General Engineer Responsibilities Include:



  • Provide professional consulting services support for customers requiring technical reach back, on-site advice and technical guidance, and other related data in support of operations and maintenance related to projects under Military Construction (MILCON), Facility Sustainment Restoration & Modernization (FSRM), repairs, and support to deployed CE personnel.
  • Oversee engineering projects, ensuring strict adherence to DoD design and construction criteria.
  • Develop and review Scope of Work (SOW) and funding documents in support of the DoD Tri-Service Criteria Program.
  • Development of technical specifications, design and construction documents, and operating instructions.
  • Update FDCSP community websites to include consolidate, track and respond to comments received from other organizations.
  • Support for facility project programming documents including scope verification/refinement, cost estimate reviews, editing/drafting revised documents.
  • The Contractor shall study commercially available and emerging technologies as alternate solutions to conventional engineering design and construction practices. The study shall cover cost, performance, applicability of methods, and development of initial methodologies.
  • Assist the Government in preparation and delivery of presentations at training programs and courses in FDCSP subject area of expertise.
  • Perform Design Reviews/Assessments
  • Conduct technical reviews of planning & design documents for FSRM & MILCON projects
  • Conduct annual project site visits
  • Assist with research, coordination, documentation and recommended response of CE DASH requests
  • Assist with research, coordination, documentation and recommended response of CCR submissions
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned


Senior General Engineer Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:



  • Minimum of 10 years of experience overseeing the development of Scope of Work (SOW) and funding documents for the DoD Tri-Service Criteria Program.
  • Extensive experience in developing technical specifications, design, and construction documents, as well as applying building codes and DoD criteria.
  • Accredited Associate's degree or higher in Engineering or Architecture; R.A. or P.E. license is preferred.
  • Demonstrated technical expertise in criteria development and review, including Engineering Technical Letters, Unified Facilities Criteria, and DoD guidelines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex engineering concepts to a diverse audience.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
