Description
Steelcase is hiring a Insight and Analytics Consultant who will weave stories with meaningful and actionable insights using data triangulation to help stakeholders make better data-informed decisions. You will own quantitative research projects end-to-end, including problem definition, data extraction/manipulation/visualization, implementation of analytical/statistical models, and presentation to and partnership with stakeholders.
What You Will Be Doing:
By curating a deep, data-driven understanding of the market and economic forecasts and layering it with internal trends and performance, the Market Insights team identifies, evaluates, and quantifies emerging market threats and opportunities.
As a valued contributor to this work, you will:
  • Lead quantitative research projects using internal and external data sources to answer complex/ambiguous questions to guide strategic decisions.
  • Effectively manage and engage diverse stakeholders and build explicit project scopes to meet business needs.
  • Clearly and concisely communicate actionable insights and recommendations to stakeholders and senior leadership.
Your Future Team:
You will be part of Market Insights, a small, close-knit team of quantitative researchers, which sits within the broader Workspace Futures team. Together, WorkSpace Futures is a global multidisciplinary team responsible for identifying the emerging forces that will redefine our world, and helping corporate, educational and healthcare organizations to meet the challenges of today and tomorrow.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience working as a data scientist or quantitative researcher/analyst.
  • Bachelor's degree in data science, research, statistics, economics, psychology, mathematics, or related area.
Desired Skills and Experience:
  • Graduate degree or relevant specialty preferred.
  • Experience with market analysis/evaluation, market sizing, and market forecasting.
  • Experience with high-volume data management, manipulation, analysis, modeling, synthesis, and storytelling with data.
  • Proficiency with descriptive and inferential statistics - advanced statics a plus (e.g., logistic regression, factor analysis, clustering).
  • Proficiency with data analysis tools (e.g., Python, R, Stata).
  • Familiarity with survey methodologies (e.g., question formation, programming, sampling) and Qualtrics a plus.
  • Ability to think in terms of complex systems, balance research needs with business needs, and contribute knowledge to the research base through development of actionable insights in partnership with a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Ability to deliver effective presentations to clearly and succinctly summarize quantities of information that can be tailored to different functions or leadership levels.
  • Ability to work both independently with direction on scope or with members of the team and/or business partners to align and run project activities.
  • Interested in catalyzing transformation within the team and wider organization, excited by complexity, and comfortable with ambiguity.
