Description Sign on Bonus The Opportunity: Patient Care Associate - Orthopaedic and Urology Unit- Ellison 6 Ellison 6 is a thirty-six-bed adult inpatient orthopedic/urology/surgery unit. The patient population includes orthopedic and urologic patients who are post-surgical intervention and pre-surgery from Emergency Department, front door or clinical admissions. Fast paced, exciting environment. Ellison 6 is seeking a Unit Coordinator, with Night weekend availability, and to provide holiday coverage. Schedule Day (7a-3p, 7a-7p), Evenings (3-11pm) 40 hours per week Rotating holiday and weekend requirement What are we looking for The Patient Care Associate (PCA) will assist the RNs in Ellison 6 with a variety of functions including phlebotomy and EKGs, transport patients, check rooms and equipment, assist patients with dressing and feeding and some clerical functions. Qualifications Skills Effective customer service orientation and the ability to interact with diverse groups of patients, staff and providers. Demonstrated ability to solve basic patient and practice problems using a combination of strong interpersonal and communication skills, attention to detail and superior organizational skills. Ability to lift and transport patients, using the appropriate physical technique, in a safe manner for the patient and self. * Preferred: Must have recent experience, and/or training, in clinical patient care. * Required: Licensed, certified or enrolled student in a Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, Mental Health Technician, or EMT accredited program, at the time of hire, OR Candidate enrolled in a Nursing program, Pre-Med or PA undergraduate program with at least one semester of patient care rotations completed at time of hire.
