Scope of Position

EDF Renewables North America is a market-leading independent power producer and service provider with over 35 years of experience. We deliver grid-scale power: wind (onshore and offshore), solar photovoltaic, and storage projects; distribution-scale power: solar and storage; asset optimization: technical, operational, and commercial expertise to maximize the performance of generating projects, and onsite solutions, through the Company's PowerFlex affiliate, offering a full suite of onsite energy solutions for commercial and industrial customers: solar, storage, EV charging, energy management systems, and microgrids.

The Senior Contract Manager will support Asset Optimization by owning the contract workflow for O&M and PAA contracts. They will own the standard internal contract templates and tools designed to support the efficient and on-time processing of contracts for AO. They will be the subject matter expert on terms and conditions related to market competitive scopes and risk exposure for AO contracts. On the external side they will also function in leading negotiations with counter parties, proposing deal strategy, and managing full cycle negotiations with the ultimate goal of closing deals. The ideal candidate will possess strong relationship building skills, be very organized, detail oriented, able to work independently, and take initiative to accomplish goals and deliver results.



Responsibilities

    Lead negotiations with external counter parties and own the approval processes for contract processing and execution in the 3rd party region. Identify, interpret, and communicate to leadership items of risk to EDFR (i.e., Legal, Finance, Insurance, Data Privacy, etc.) and manage those aspects through negotiation to contract execution. Develop dossiers / risk-assessments for 3rd party deals that document and explain risk and reward to leadership when approving deals.
  • Serve as the process owner to build and manage the contract workflow for AO and serve as the subject matter expert for facilitating communications between internal AO business teams in managing and processing AO contracts. Ensure that contracts are processed timely and with proper approvals and auditability. Subject matter expert on terms and conditions and mechanisms in AO contracts and seeks ways to improve our position and mitigate/manage risk.
  • Development and upkeep of agreement templates for use on internal projects; provide timely and complete reporting on all AO contract activities, the competitive contract landscape and be able to articulate the company's capabilities and service offerings effectively to team members and Liaise with internal legal and outside counsel to resolve contract matters and manage those expenses/payments.
  • Other duties as assigned

Working Conditions:

80% of time is spent in the office environment, utilizing computers (frequent use of various Microsoft software/programs), phones, and general office equipment. Maximum 20% of time is spent outside of the office and traveling. Travel will more typically be around 10%. Travel includes visits to other EDF RS locations, EDF RS development projects, meetings with EDF customers and potential customers, organizational partners, and industry conferences and trade shows.



Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or other related field, advanced degree a plus.
  • Fluent in English, other languages (French, Spanish) a plus.
  • 7+ years direct contract negotiation and management experience, within the energy or industrial markets a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience negotiating and executing contracts.
  • Previous experience within the renewable energy (wind, solar) field a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience building relationships across many functions and levels.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

  • Must be able to work well with geographically disperse, cross functional teams and to coordinate with external counterparties, internal teams, and other key stakeholders to drive contract negotiations to closure on time and efficiently.
  • Must have proven organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple concurrent projects and track progress and needs of each project and provide accurate and timely updates.
  • Strong negotiating and influencing skills, including ability to negotiate and write preliminary drafts of terms and language in contracts.
  • Attention to detail, particularly while overseeing the full contract cycle and very organized and structured to maintain tools and references materials for all of AO.
  • Bright, quick, articulate, excellent interpersonal skills, and able to adapt to different investor constituencies.
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to prepare and deliver formal presentations to large groups, online and in person.
  • Excellent listening and communication skills, both written and oral, including the ability to relate to customers across all project lifecycle phases.
  • Viewed as a team player who also possesses the independence of thought and opinion to provide candor and honesty when making key business decisions.
  • Passionate about business results, with a strong sense of accountability, metrics, and ownership.
  • Advanced Excel, Word, PowerPoint, other Office products and Adobe skills.

Benefits:

This role's annual base salary range is between $102,500 and $171,000.
