The Kentucky gigafactory in Bowling Green will supply Mercedes-Benz with high-performance battery cell modules. About the Role

In this role, you will be responsible for equipment installation and startup in the Electrode production segment for Li-Ion battery production, achieving process efficiency, and implementing continuous improvement strategies. What You Will Do
  • Implement and launch all manufacturing processes in your assigned area to production readiness, then support past SOP.
  • Install, commission and qualify new equipment and tooling for production implementation in collaboration with vendors and internal teams.
  • Use root cause analyses, DOE, and other established tools to achieve and improve processes capability.
  • Support development and maintenance of process documents such as Work Instructions (WI)
  • Conduct training for production employees like technicians, team leaders, and Maintenance personnel.
  • Own the Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) process for your assigned area, document lessons learned and drive continuous improvement initiatives for the manufacturing process.
What You Need
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Foreign language proficiency is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Minitab, CAD, and Data Analysis tools.
  • Knowledge and experience in quality tools such as DOE, FMEA, and 8D.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration abilities.
  • Experience in high-volume roll-type foil material processing, like coating, slitting, lamination is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in ISO-certified production environments is a plus.
What is "Nice to Have"?
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in Process/Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related field. Advanced degree is an advantage.

Travel

Overseas and domestic travel required, up to 25% during industrialization phase. Must be able to travel to vendors and/or sister locations in China, South Korea, or Japan as needed.

Work Environment

The work environment is primarily an automated manufacturing plant with a concrete floor and is characterized by some temperature extremes, moderate noise, and forklift traffic.
