Position Summary

The University of New Mexico, Center on Alcohol, Substance use and Addictions (CASAA) Integrative Management of chronic Pain and Opioid use disorder for Whole Recovery (IMPOWR) Center is seeking a Part Time Fiscal Services Tech. In 2021, CASAA was one of four research centers nationally to be awarded the NIH HEAL Initiative: Integrative Management of Chronic Pain and Opioid Use Disorder (IMPOWR) grant. The UNM CASAA IMPOWR Center takes an integrated and holistic approach to
improving the lives of patients with chronic pain and opioid use disorder via tailored intervention approaches to meet the needs of diverse individuals in diverse communities.

The Fiscal Services Tech will work in collaboration with CASAA's Research Administration team, and report to the Program Operations Director. The ideal candidate will assist with fiscal, budgetary, and associated transactions, index reconciliation, and budget projections. Must become knowledgeable of UNM accounting principles, process labor redistributions, journal vouchers, purchase orders and invoices utilizing the appropriate UNM applications.

  • All regular, non-temporary positions assigned to this classification are represented by a labor union and subject to the terms and conditions of the US-UNM Collective Bargaining Agreement.


Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.



Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience reconciling restricted indices on a monthly basis, and generating financial reports as needed.
* Experience with preparing budget projections.
* Proficient in Banner, ChromeRiver, LoboMart, Workflow, MyReports.
* Experience with processing reimbursement of travel.
* Knowledge of allowable and unallowable expenditures on NIH grants.
* Knowledge of eligible travel expenses as defined in UNM's travel reimbursement policies and procedures.
* Knowledge of monitoring and correcting salaries.
* Knowledge of tracking and monitoring invoices.
* Experience with Microsoft Excel to develop tracking tools, budget, and projection reports.
