Senior Category Manager - Parcel/Freight

Summary:

In this role, you will serve as a category expert for an assigned portfolio of operational based purchased services (including but not limited to parcel, freight management, and inventory management outsourcing) for internal and external stakeholders. You will manage a competitive contract portfolio by driving the strategy and development of the agreements to help members elevate cost, performance, and operational efficiencies.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and manage moderate to high complexity portfolio of operational based services (e.g. high visibility, utilization, and / or legal issues) related to supplier and provider relationships to ensure the highest service delivery and overall value.

• Exhibit category expertise in the development and sharing of industry insights, trends, and best practices with internal and external stakeholders (e.g., blogs, category insights, etc.).

• Act as category subject matter expert in educating and influencing providers toward utilizing national agreements and other agreements, as applicable.

• Collaborate with suppliers to drive partnership, engagement, and development of all available solutions for utilization by providers.

• Represent Vizient at meetings and industry events (e.g. AHRMM, and other provider and/or supplier meetings).

• Prepare budgets, forecasts, and revenue plans to measure contract performance against category objectives.

• Demonstrate critical thinking skills and an analytical mindset in the review and communication of supplier value proposition to provider stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• Relevant degree preferred. CMRP (Certified Materials and Resource Professional) a plus.

• 5 or more years of relevant experience in operational services (parcel, freight management, inventory management outsourcing, etc.) based consulting, account management, or development of operational services strategies required.

• Expertise in vendor selection, contract negotiations, and supplier development in a healthcare setting highly preferred.

• Proven ability to develop content and present category knowledge in front of both large and small audiences.

• Willingness to travel.
