Description

The Quality Manager is responsible for maintaining the Quality Management System(s) in both of our business units, overseeing quality of builds & assemblies and ensuring that they meet customer requirements consistently. This critical role will work closely with Operations and Engineering teams and drive continuous improvement in all our processes.

Quality Management:



  • Maintain Cablcon's Quality Management System, including Quality Manual, all relevant procedures and work instructions. Maintain the Paradigm (P3) database.
  • Ensure that Cablcon remains compliant to the requirements of the current applicable ISO 9001 and TL 9000 standards. Report Cablcon's performance to the QuEST Forum RMS database
  • Conduct root cause analysis on all Customer Complaints effectively and implement appropriate Corrective and Preventive Action to prevent recurrence.
  • Conduct Internal audits as required to confirm compliance with procedures and to identify process improvement opportunities.
  • Drive Lean & continuous improvement initiatives that improves Safety, Quality and productivity throughout the organization.
  • Conduct safety audits and drive safety awareness throughout the organization.
  • Work with customers in completing & getting approvals on PPAPs & FAI (First Article Inspection)
  • Promote, teach, and present quality as a means for process improvement and efficiency
  • Ensure all Measuring equipment used is calibrated and maintained.
  • Act as management representative in all TL 9000/ISO 9001 audits and any on site customer audits. Conduct Supplier audits as needed to improve incoming material quality.
  • Familiarity with Product Compliance requirements (ROHS, REACH & Conflict Minerals, Prop 65 & TSCA)
  • Work closely with Engineering and Sales teams in new product development and setting up appropriate process controls to detect any non-conformances.
  • Monitor Quality and production metrics on a daily basis and take steps to drive improvements.
  • Train Quality technicians in doing in process and packaging inspections effectively.
  • Prepare assembly instructions for operations as needed to drive consistency during builds.
  • The Quality Manager has the authority to make all quality related decisions, including the authority to stop production if a defective product is detected.


Quality Analysis



  • Using Quality Data, identify cost saving opportunities and work with corresponding functional owners in reducing overall business costs.
  • Verify the effectiveness of ISO/TL Quality Audits (internal and external), Action Items, Customer Complaints, and Customer and Supplier corrective actions and provide closure when appropriate.
  • Assist with trend analysis for audit, customer returns, corrective actions and customer requests and complaints.
  • Ensure that proper inspection requirements are in place based on current and historical inventory problems.
  • Assist with the analysis of cost of non-conformance and suggest improvements as a result of this analysis


Records



  • Complete and maintain all required records, files, paperwork and documentation.
  • Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations.
  • Maintain equipment calibration records and schedules


Training



  • Train new employees on processes and procedures as needed.
  • Train and develop the Quality team in using Quality Tools and techniques to drive improvements
