Description

TMC, a LinQuest company is seeking a Laborer to join our team onsite in Las Cruces, NM. The ability to obtain a DoD security clearance is required

The General Services worker performs general services tasks that require mainly physical abilities and effort.

Responsibilities:



  • Conduct building maintenance:

    • Empty all trash each day
    • Sweep and mop as needed (both shops)
    • Clean break area (includes microwave and fridge area)
    • Keep outside gates clean and clear of any debris
    • Keep outside common areas clean
    • Stock bathrooms as needed (toilet paper, paper towels)
    • Clean in/around paint booth
    • Collect shop rags bi-weekly


  • Conduct machine maintenance:

    • Clean bandsaws and check fluid levels
    • Keep drill presses clear of debris
    • Pick up material drop from behind sheer
    • Check fluid levels on machines in machine shop (mills, small lathe, cold saw)
    • Keep machine shop machines clean (check with machinists)


  • Gather and cut material:

    • Locate material and verify to project
    • Verify material is correct to print and orientates correctly
    • Construct cut list to appropriate parts quantity
    • Cut material using correct machine with aluminum cutting band saw or steel cutting (horizontal or vertical), circular saw, shear, and cold saw


  • Deburr, wash and coat

    • Remove all sharp edges/burrs
    • Asses finish of part to print (ex. Paint, Powder coat, bare, or Alodine)
    • If allodizing, following safety precautions and directions
    • Clean parts via washing with detergents or degreasers to remove oil and blemishes
    • Organize parts for delivery to either welding, paint, or Powder coat


  • Production


  • Grind welded parts to prepare for next stage of production
  • Use DA (dual action) sanding tools/files and sanding blocks
  • Design jigs to aid in production
  • Use of hand tools to complete various parts/tasks
  • During high workload, assist machinists with entry level type machining on mills
  • Sandblasting (booth or standalone)
  • Assist painter with various tasks


  • Assembly:

    • Label parts on project
    • Organize, sort, and inventory project hardware
    • Utilize blueprints to assemble project
    • Troubleshoot minor issues during assembly
    • Assists engineering team in packaging of some assemblies


  • Load and unload materials, parts, or products manually or by mechanized means.
  • Transfer finished products and raw materials about plant and warehouse, using hand truck.
  • Deliver production items to designated work areas for processing.
  • Deliver processed units to storage or for the next stage of processing.
  • Packs products in containers.
  • Clean around work areas, using broom and other appropriate tools
  • Assist other production workers in production activities.
  • Assist in final assembly of projects
  • May travel to vendor locations for pickup or delivery of parts and equipment or to obtain other goods and services
  • Take inventory and organize hardware
  • Other duties as assigned


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience



  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance
  • 0-1 year of relevant experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Familiar with general labor services
  • Able to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Physically fit to perform general labor duties
  • Possess a valid driver's license
