POSITION SUMMARY

The Stratton Winter Sports Club Freestyle/Freeski/Allegro Coach will provide the highest level of modern Freestyle/Freeski coaching to prepare athletes for all levels of competition. The Coach must be able to make quick and effective judgement calls and coaching decisions to ensure that athletes are using the best practices in the safest manner possible. This position will also provide assistance with the building and maintaining training and event venues. This is a part-time seasonal position. The rate of pay for this role starts at $18.00/hour, with increases based on certifications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Execute in-season programming plan put forth by the Program Manager
  • Must maintain a professional demeanor, in uniform, dressed ready to go
  • Be exemplary as a role mode
  • Maintain positive dynamic communication and rapport with athletes, parents, coaches, supervisors and managers
  • Collaborate to establish best practices, work under pressure, and prioritize tasks accordingly
  • Maintain appropriate asset protection and inventory control
  • Prepare venues as needed for training and competitions
  • Supervise training venues to ensure safety while athletes are training
  • Always maintain best practices for safety standards and code compliance for guests and staff
  • Other duties as assigned


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Education:

  • High School Diploma, in progress or completed


Experience:

  • Previous experience participating in or coaching within their respective discipline, required
  • Knowledge and understanding of US Ski & Snowboard and/or USASA rules and regulations, required
  • Previous experience maintaining venues in accordance with criteria set by US Ski & Snowboard and/or USASA, recommended


QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • US Ski & Snowboard and/or USASA membership, recommended
  • Current Safesport, CPR and First Aid and CDC Heads Up Concussion, required


TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Regular event travel may be required. Reimbursement is given for authorized travel expenses.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

This position will be required to work weekends and holidays.
