JOB TITLE: Tickets, Lessons and Guest Service Agent

DIVISION: Ticket Sales, Guest Services & Lesson Sales

REPORTS TO: Sr. Manager Tickets, Guest Services & Lesson Sales

LOCATION: Tickets, Guest Services& Ski & Ride School Offices

CLASIFICATION: Full-Time / Part-Time/ Seasonal/ Hourly

POSITION:

Solitude is on the search for a self-motivated, outgoing individual who enjoys spending time outdoors and has an interest in working in gorgeous Big Cottonwood Canyon. Ticket Sales and Guest Service Agents provide a point of positive contact between the guest and Solitude Mountain Resort. Agents will work in Ticket and Lesson Sales and Guest Services, flexing as the situation requires. Some shifts will be completely in one location, while others will require moving around the resort as the situation dictates.

Ticketing responsibilities include helping guests with Ikon, Solitude season pass products, purchasing daily tickets, guiding guests how to purchase online and to use the PUB (pick up boxes). Agents will also help guests with choosing the best products for them. Guest Service duties include staffing our ski check, tracking lost and found, engaging guests in public areas and anticipating common questions and situations to make guests' days go as smoothly as possible.

The ideal candidate will maintain a safe and guest-friendly environment in either the Moonbeam or Village locations during daily operations. We are excited to grow our team and treat our employees to the unique and amazing benefits that Solitude Mountain Resorts offers.

SPECIFIC JOB REQUIREMEMTS:

  • Possess cash handling experience, basic computer skills and strong communication skills
  • Strong customer service skills, communication, accuracy and timeliness
  • Ability to handle periods of very high volume
  • Able to work independently of supervision in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to communicate via phone conversation or email as well as in person
  • Possess a high comfort level communicating one-on-one with guests
  • Knowledgeable about all Resort services and activities
  • Able to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time during a shift
  • Able to handle conflict resolution
  • Must be available to work any schedule and shift Monday through Sunday
  • Must have the desire and ability to tolerate and work in varying weather conditions for extended periods of time including hot/cold temperatures, inclement weather, and moving between indoor and outdoor environments.
  • Capable of standing for extended periods of time and lifting to 40 lbs.
  • The ability to meet and/or exceed satisfactory performance levels in all duties as assigned
  • Ability to perform simple math and balance a cash drawer


JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Sell all Ticket Office and Ski School products to guests, such as, daily lift tickets, season passes, lessons, locals pass, etc., and maintain a current knowledge of these products in order to respond to guest inquiries with a positive and friendly demeanor
  • Process data entry to create/update guest files and ensure that correct paperwork and contracts have been completed
  • Accurately process and balance daily transactions and submit to accounting at end of shift
  • Interact with guests and other employees in a professional, informed and timely manner
  • Rotate between the different ticket, ski school and guest service locations throughout the Resort
  • Exemplify a strong work ethic
  • Function as a team player in a positive and professional manner
  • Communicate any suggestions or concerns to manager in a timely manner
  • Speak and act professionally while on duty
  • Support/follow company policies, procedures, and Employee Handbook guidelines
  • Communicate in a pleasant and respectful manner with fellow employees and guests
  • Greet guests with a positive and friendly demeanor
  • Explain pass, ticketing and lesson products and pricing to guests
  • Sell products and take payment with accuracy
  • Be tactful and diplomatic when interacting with guests
  • Notify the Manager of incidents, accidents, injuries, and property damage as soon as it occurs
  • Knowledge of the mountain emergency operating plans and procedures
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures
  • Answer phones, return voice mail messages and use texting programs to communicate with guests effectively
  • Work with management and instructors as necessary to communicate booking requests
