Position Summary

Performs a variety of tasks pertaining to patient tray services, dishwashing and janitorial/sanitation duties which includes working tray line station, delivery of patient trays, picks up patient's food carts and dirty trays from patient's rooms and pantries, dishwashing, maintaining clean floors and counters and storeroom rotation according to FIFO procedures.

This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the mission of Orange Coast Memorial Medical Center. The employee shall support Orange Coast Memorial Medical Center's strategic plan and participate in and advocate performance improvement/patient safety activities.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job

  • Performs janitorial services in the production areas/kitchen
  • Works on tray line serving hot beverages and soups.
  • Prepares and clean tray line work area for quick and proper service.
  • Delivers and pick-up patient trays at mealtime.
  • Demonstrates the ability to apply infection control policies/procedures for safe food handling.
  • Follow HACCP guidelines, Title 22 and JCAHO regulations for food storage, safety and sanitation.
  • Demonstrates the ability to perform other related duties.
  • Ability to be at work and be on time
  • Ability to follow company policies, procedures and directives
  • Ability to interact in a positive and constructive manner
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications/Work Experience:



  • 6 months hospital foodservice experience preferred.
  • Ability to speak, read, writes and follows written and oral instructions in the English Language.


Education/Licensure/Certification:



  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
