If you have a passion around working with operations teams, solving problems, and improving both processes and equipment, Georgia-Pacific is seeking qualified candidates for a Manufacturing Engineer role supporting our Printing Press Operations at the Dixie Plant located in Darlington, SC. The Darlington Plant is an integrated Dixie plates and bowls manufacturing site with industrial printing and converting operations.

We are looking for an individual who possesses a business owner mindset with strengths in managing both technical aspects of improving equipment capability and soft skills needed to align operating resources to maximize the capability of the asset.

Our Team

This will be a key role supporting the Darlington facility and overall Georgia-Pacific Continuous Manufacturing Group's (CMG) Printing operations. The Printing ME is directly responsible for partnering with our printing operations team to develop and execute asset strategies on our industrial printing presses. This position will also network and collaborate with other Manufacturing Engineers across the site and with corporate teams across GP.

What You Will Do

  • Partner with printing supervisors, press leaders and printing technicians to improve and optimize the printing assets.
  • Work with the Operations Leader and corporate leaders to build asset strategies.
  • Work with team members to capture strategic value opportunities and implement proven operating practices within a core set of designated workstreams: Management Systems; Organization; Production; and Asset Care.
  • Support capital projects to improve printing assets.
  • Support production leaders in tracking KPIs, identifying learning opportunities, and managing changes to the operations.
  • Partner with learning and development to accelerate and assist technician's development of knowledge and skill.
  • Assist with troubleshooting support for printing assets
  • Coordinate with equipment vendors on upgrades, enhancements, and troubleshooting.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering or Technical curriculum. Candidates in their last 6 months of completing these degree requirements will be considered as well.
  • Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office products to include Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated capability with working alongside coworkers and cross-functional teams up and down the organization.

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Prior experience working in a production operation or with operating equipment used in the production, converting, and finishing of paper goods and associated products.
  • Experience with SAP.
  • Experience with change management/transformation initiatives.
  • Experience with industrial printing press assets.
  • Project management or experience with project execution.
