Job Summary

Serve as Head Women's Softball coach including but not limited to; coaching, scouting, scheduling, recruiting, study hall monitoring, mentoring, travel coordination, teaching sportsmanship, life skills, discipline enforcement, and program administration. Demonstrates a commitment to service excellence, innovation, student success, integrity and diversity in the performance of job duties.

Essential Functions

25% - Plans, manages and implements coaching strategy and practice training sessions for student athletes in accordance with established regulations.

25% - Organizes, provides for and oversees the recruitment of prospective student athletes including the evaluation of student athletes in areas of academics, athletic ability and character.

10% - Plans and manages the overall development of the student athlete including academic success, character building, and team discipline.

10% - Serves as a program liaison with campus representatives, community service providers, alumni development representatives and others in the promotion of academics and campus/community support partnerships.

10% - Plans and implements athletic promotional programs and related fundraising efforts.

10% - Oversees and ensures students and programs comply with NJCAA, MCCCD, Region I and ACCAC regulations, policies and procedures.

10% - Plans and administers assigned budget; monitors program expenditures and budget compliance. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution in Physical Education, Sports Management, Sports Coaching, or related field and four full- time equivalent years of experience as an athletic coach, preferably at the college level, which includes recruiting experience and two years of senior level or lead experience.

OR

Associates Degree from a regionally accredited institution in Physical Education, Sports Management, Sports Coaching, or related field and six full- time equivalent years of experience as an athletic coach, preferably at the college level, which includes recruiting experience and two years of senior level pr lead experience.

OR

High School Diploma / GED and eight full- time equivalent years of experience as an athletic coach preferably at the college level, which includes recruiting and two years of senior level or lead experience.

Desired Qualifications

A) Four or more seasons coaching softball as a head coach or assistant coach in an educational setting

B) Experience in recruiting student athletes

C) Experience in organizing academic retention and academic completion efforts of student-athletes

D) Experience and knowledge of the student-athlete eligibility process

E) Experience in working with the local community and local businesses which includes fundraising activities

F) College degree.

Special Working Conditions

Possession of a valid State of Arizona Class D Driver's License is required; employee must meet district minimum standards regarding driving:
