The Role
We are seeking an Outside Sales Consultant for our Naples location. Based out of the Waterworks' Naples design studio when not traveling, this role will focus on marketing to Florida's western coast, from Marco Island to Tampa, as well as Orlando and other assigned territories. The Outside Sales Consultant is responsible for meeting or exceeding sales targets in their assigned region, ensuring a profitable business.
This position blends sales expertise, project management, and design consultation, fostering strong, collaborative relationships with clients to drive long-term, repeat business. As a trusted advisor, the consultant will recommend design solutions while delivering exceptional service with integrity and professionalism.

Responsibilities
  • Sales and Marketing Responsibilities:
  • Spend 40-50% of the week prospecting and marketing within the designated territory, with the remainder focused on project management, client service, and supporting the direct sales team.
  • Cultivate and grow relationships with trade clients through outside marketing, social media, client presentations (both in-person and virtual), and various events like pop-ups, scouting partnerships, and client dinners.
  • Set and achieve marketing strategies and revenue goals by client, while monitoring and reporting progress to management with forecasting as required.
  • Confidently pitch product lines to target clientele in both in-person and virtual settings.
  • Collaborate with Sales Leadership, GMs, and team members to implement creative marketing and sales strategies, including initiatives for the Commercial division and support out-of-territory clients working on projects within your region.
  • Design Services/Project Management:
  • Deliver exceptional service to maintain and grow long-term relationships with current clients, while proactively identifying and securing new business.
  • Drive revenue by increasing client spend across all product lines, including secondary offerings.
  • Oversee project management, including tracking procurement, budgets, and timelines to support client needs throughout the design and production process.
  • Partner with Service & Support teams to resolve client issues efficiently.
  • Operational Responsibilities:
  • Based in the Naples studio when not traveling, providing support to walk-in clients.
  • Maintain operational excellence, upholding brand standards and ensuring client needs are met.
  • Utilize CRM and other tools to track return on investment for client interactions and networking activities.
  • Manage the entire order process, from entering sample requests and quotes to overseeing shipping.
  • Participate in regional and corporate meetings to provide updates on territory performance.
  • Carefully manage the travel budget, ensuring ROI.
  • Respond promptly to all internal communications and embody company values within the designated territory.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience with inside/outside sales in a high-end luxury brand environment; Preference for experience in interior design with working knowledge of plumbing and/or building
  • Working knowledge of the Western Florida design community
  • Ability to work in an outside field environment; to travel and market within territory 60% of the week
  • Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales quotas
  • Exceptional communication and listening skills, with the ability to find connections between company's products and client's needs and to provide alternative solutions
  • Strong ability to negotiate and close deals, as well as persuade and influence others
  • Exceptional time management skills
  • Self-motivated with strong work ethic and to work autonomously
  • Digitally savvy - willing and able to successfully connect with clients virtually
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications, Zoom, and Google
  • Have own reliable vehicle/ transportation to get to clients and job sites
  • Local travel required up to 30% of the week. Overnight travel required at least 2x per quarter.

Ability to lift and mobilize small to medium items up to 25 lbs. while utilizing appropriate equipment and techniques. Ability to maneuver effectively around showroom floor, stock room and office. Position could entail periods of standing, twisting, stooping, kneeling, squatting, bending and climbing. Licensed to drive preferred. Ability to travel locally or out of state.
