Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare, organize and track IRB/IACUC submissions for new studies, amendments and continuing reviews as required by the local IRB/IACUC
  • Prepare, organize, review and assist with grant submissions
  • Periodic review of informed consent documents to ensure each form has been executed in an appropriate manner
  • Maintain department research administration documents
  • Maintain list of current resident and faculty research publicatio
  • Design and formatting of research database
  • Data input, organization and cleanig
  • Preparation and submission of clinical research database requests and data use agreement
  • Perform literature searches and organize/synthesize search result
  • Patient screening, study recruitment and obtaining informed consent (at discretion of study PI
  • Assist with preparing research findings for reports and presentation
  • Maintain secure shared files for off-site and on-site management of project documents and dat
  • Coordinate monthly research meetings for clinical subdivisions within the departmen
  • Formatting, editing and submission of scientific manuscripts
  • Assist in training medical students in short- and long-term research related task
  • Organize logistics of annual research course for incoming interns and summer medical student
  • Assist with research related reimbursement
  • Obtain quotes/order supplies for research projects
  • Proper maintenance/storage of study document
  • Track and ensure compliance/maintenance of CITI training
  • Incorporate new information/processes/techniques into research operations with Clinical Research Director/Chair approval
  • Perform other duties as required by the Principal Investigators in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery
  • Recognizes ethical/compliance requirements within own area of responsibility
  • Maintain a positive and safe work environment

Minimum Education and/or Work Experience
Minimum Education: Required: Bachelors Degree Preferred: Masters Degree Specify Degree(s): Biological or physical sciences Minimum Experience: Required: 1-2 years of previous job-related experience Preferred: 3-5 years of previous job-related experience
Qualifications
Competency using Microsoft Office Suite Programs, demonstrated organizational and interpersonal strengths and an innate ability to learn new challenging skills. Experience with data management and/or database design preferred.
