Why do we need you ?
Part of the Gypsum Materials & Formulation department in our CertainTeed Malvern Innovation Center, you will support new products development, with a focus on fire-resistant and more sustainable products, keeping in mind the business constraints (cost, raw materials availability, CO2 impact, process limitation). Based on general knowledge of gypsum board formulation and lab testing, you will perform experiments, suggest and develop a research strategy to optimize a board's formulation matching the final targeted properties such as mechanical resistance or fire performance. Additionally, you will support the team in building a solid fire competency by developing new lab testing methods to better understand the link between the board's formulation (fire additives), its structural properties (porosity, density) and the failure at full scale application. As a VIE, you'll report directly to the Senior Research Engineer and will be part of the Gypsum R&D team and the Research Center community, working closely with engineers, technicians and interns.
