Position Description

In this role, you will be responsible for leading Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) process for Air Cooled Applications in Performance Technologies and Modine. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute a comprehensive demand planning strategy that aligns with our business goals and objectives. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in both demand and supply planning, along with excellent leadership and strategic planning skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Implement Demand Planning Process: Develop and implement a robust demand planning process that incorporates best practices and industry standards. Create methodologies, tools, and systems to facilitate accurate demand forecasting and inventory planning. Oversee and support fiscal budget cycles and develop financial outlooks and forecasts.
  • Develop Demand Planning Strategy: Collaborate with stakeholders from various departments to establish a demand planning strategy that supports overall business objectives. Align demand planning initiatives with sales, marketing, operations, and finance to ensure an integrated and cohesive approach. Lead product lifecycles from a planning and materials perspective including 80/20, NPI launch readiness, end of life phase outs, and last time buy management with vendors.
  • Lead Global Cross-Functional Collaboration: Foster collaboration between sales, marketing, operations, and finance teams to gather and analyze data, identify trends, and develop accurate demand forecasts. Facilitate regular meetings and discussions to review demand plans, resolve conflicts, and drive consensus across all 11 global ACA plants.
  • Forecast Accuracy and Performance Analysis: Monitor and evaluate demand forecasting accuracy and performance metrics. Conduct root cause analysis to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as necessary. Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to track demand planning effectiveness.
  • Inventory Optimization: Collaborate with supply chain and operations teams to optimize inventory levels while ensuring customer service targets are met. Develop inventory strategies and policies based on demand patterns, lead times, and service level requirements.
  • SIOP Implementation: Drive the implementation of Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning processes. Develop cross-functional processes and guidelines to ensure effective demand and supply balancing, capacity planning, and inventory management. Lead and integrate the end-to-end demand forecasting, supply planning, and analytics functions to ensure that financial, competitive, and customer objectives are achieved.
  • Technology and Systems: Evaluate and implement demand planning and forecasting tools, systems, and technologies to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and scalability. Stay abreast of industry advancements and emerging trends in demand planning software.
  • Team Leadership and Development: Build and lead a high-performing demand planning team. Provide mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities to team members. Foster a collaborative and results-oriented culture within the team.
Required Education & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field. Master's degree is preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in demand planning, SIOP, or supply chain management roles.
  • Proven track record of successfully designing and implementing demand planning processes and systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of demand forecasting methodologies, statistical analysis, and demand planning software. Advanced analytical and statistical abilities including concepts such as standard deviation, forecast error, bias, and mean average percent error (MAPE)
  • Excellent leadership and influencing skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams. Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience in driving change management and process improvement initiatives.
  • Knowledge of industry best practices and emerging trends in demand planning and SIOP.
  • Must have oral and written communication skills for presentations to all levels of customer and Modine Executive Leadership
  • APICS / CPIM or other industry standard Materials process certifications preferred
  • 5+ years of direct leadership experience in both hourly and salaried workforces a plus
  • Understanding of ERP and APS (i.e., SAP IBP, Kinaxis, Logility, etc.) preferred
  • Must have oral and written communication skills for presentations to all levels of customer and Modine Executive Leadership
