Position: Assistant Operator
Location: : Norwalk, CA
Starting Pay: $25.38/ hour
Shift: (Flexibility required) 1st Shift 7am-3pm, 2nd Shift 3pm-11pm, 3rd shift 11pm-7am

While reporting to the Production Shift Supervisor as the Assistant Operator, you will be responsible for assisting the Operator to ensure that product is of acceptable quality, to produce product in a safe and effective manner, to troubleshoot line issues, and complete operator PMs,

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Complete assigned paperwork and reporting.
  • Keep work area clean and orderly.
  • Correct and / or report all unsafe conditions.
  • Other tasks as assigned by shift lead, line spiral winder operator, or members of management.
  • Complete assigned quality checks throughout shift.
  • Safely perform all tasks in accordance with JSAs, OPLs, SOPs, and HECPs.
  • Ensure product being made meets all quality standards.
  • Troubleshoot issues on the line with regards to safety, quality, or machine run ability.
  • Assist in efficient line start-ups, changeovers, and line shut-downs.
  • Complete assigned operator PMs.
  • Responsible for assigned data entry into Oracle.
  • Maintain housekeeping at acceptable level. Ensure proper housekeeping procedures are followed at end of shift and end of week clean-ups.
  • Quarantine any suspect product and communicate hold to shift lead and quality control.
  • Notify maintenance of any machine malfunction and upcoming changeovers in a timely manner.
  • Ensure the correct amount of material is on the line. Ensure line clearance is performed in a timely manner to remove un-needed materials.
  • Complete shift handoffs when arriving and when leaving to include communication on order status, current machine issues, and current quality concerns.

We'd love to hear from you if:

  • Have Operator experience in a Manufacturing environment.
  • Have experience operating Oracle interactive screens.
  • You can perform work under minimal supervision.
  • You can handle complex issues, problems, and refer only the most complex issues to higher-level staff.
  • Can work overtime as needed
  • You have to have a "get it done" attitude.
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Are reliable, have good initiative, are committed, and being quality focused is a must.
  • Have the ability to effectively work with a team in a fast-paced environment is crucial to success.
  • Have the ability to read and understand manufacturing instructions.
