Arete is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Electronics Production Technician to join our dynamic team in Tucson, AZ. In this role, you will perform a variety of tasks across the electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, and optical domains. Responsibilities include assembling, testing, calibrating, and repairing complex electronic systems. You will work from schematics, engineering drawings, and written or verbal instructions to ensure precise operation. Additionally, you will operate related equipment, conduct tests, and report data in the prescribed format. The role also involves performing calibration and alignment checks, making necessary adjustments, modifications, and replacements, and preparing prescribed compounds and solutions.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Assemble and test electro-optical and electronics units for production based on designs, specifications, and procedures.
  • Construct, integrate, and test custom cabling harnesses as needed.
  • Set up test apparatus and conduct testing of electrical, optical, and electro-optical production assemblies following established methods, procedures, specifications, and standards.
  • Adjust and calibrate systems as required.
  • Complete assembly and test documentation, and may contribute to writing and editing procedures.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and diagnosing root causes of malfunctions, and implement corrective actions.
  • Monitor and verify the quality of assemblies in accordance with statistical processes or other control procedures.
  • Occasionally interact with suppliers and customers as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Experiences and Background We Look For:

  • Associates Degree or 2+ years of related Experience
  • Previous experience in a production electronics environment
  • Good command of basic electronics and the ability to work with sensitive circuitry
  • Use of basic electronics equipment such as AC/DC power supplies, DMM, oscilloscopes
  • Tool and asset management, organization, lab maintenance, and tool and consumable expiration date management
  • Use of hand tools/torque tools
  • Effective professional written and verbal communications skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Take direction, input, and feedback from internal customers such as lab managers and program managers and implement solutions
  • Soldering experience, especially J-STD-001 certification

The salary range for this role is $55,000 to $60,000; however, Arete considers several factors when extending an offer of employment, including but not limited to: the position and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.

Other Requirements

U.S. citizenship is required to meet position eligibility.

Selected applicants will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Successful passage of a Department of Transportation (DOT) drug test is required to meet position eligibility.
