Systems Operator IV/Computer Operator V

Position Summary:

Command Cyber Solutions (a federal government contractor) is seeking a qualified Systems Support Specialist/Administrative Assistant to support a Government Technical Services Project for the US DOE TRANSCOM Program. TRANSCOM consists of multiple custom web applications, tools and interfaces and a user help desk that supports users 24-7. This position provides TRANSCOM technical support services directly to the EM CBFO, and DOE sites as needed to aid in the tracking of the transuranic (TRU) waste shipments as well as other radioactive material shipments to meet the DOE mission requirements.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

* In coordination with the Project Manager, oversee and direct project organization, staffing, management policies, personnel authorities and general business operations required to carry out the Company's contractual responsibilities, including the recruitment of managers, staff and technical experts necessary to ensure the project's success.
* Ensure project operations are conducted in accordance with corporate policies and procedures.
* Determine the financial and personnel resources needed to achieve contract objectives and support contract operations; identify the need for major organizational improvements, develop requisite plans, and direct implementing action.
* Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to track risk mitigation activities and their impact on the project implementation activities, using the Company and/or customer risk/issue tracking tools or similar resources.
* Provide technical support for issues affecting end users, including software problems, network breakdowns, and hardware failures.
* Review existing IT systems and internal processes; collect and analyze data to identify areas for improvement within the project's IT infrastructure.
* Train staff on new software, systems and best practices.
* Modify, update, and correct data contained in automated systems.
* Perform data inquiries and searches on automated systems; generate records and reports from these systems; and perform searches.
* Assist in projects requiring research, briefing charts and other presentation materials.
* Prepare and/or oversee preparation of scopes of work and determine schedules and budgets to achieve program goals.
* Perform administrative duties as assigned, including but not limited to scheduling and logistical support activities.

Education, Experience & Certification Requirements:

Education:

* Minimum required education: High school diploma.
* Preferred education: Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Business, or IT related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Certifications (preferred):

* Microsoft Technology Professional (MTA)
* CompTIA A+ Certification

Experience:

* Minimum ten (10) years' experience as a systems support specialist or equivalent experience.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

* Proficient in MS Office suites (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Outlook), Adobe Acrobat, and any other software specific to this position.
* Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment to assess priorities and perform detail oriented work without close supervision.
* Technologically savvy and able to troubleshoot computer issues.
* Ability to work with sensitive information.
* Ability to manage multiple projects and initiatives with strong organizational, analytical, research, problem-solving and technical skills.
* Ability to interpret and apply federal, state, local laws, regulations and requirements, including but not limited to current DOE Directives (https://energy.gov/em/doe-directive).
* Effective oral and written communication skills.
* Exhibit a high degree of professionalism in the production of deliverables and in interactions with fellow employees and client personnel. Display a professional customer-service attitude at all times.
* Adhere to fundamental principles of ethical service pursuant to federal, state and local regulations.

Working Conditions/Working Environment/Physical Demands

* Basic office work environment at government facility.
* Position requires shift flexibility to support a 24x7x365 operation.
* Occasionally, project requirements may require temporary adjustment of work hours/days.
* Duties are subject to change based on the needs of the customer.
