Job Description: Baptist Health Medical Group is looking for Manager, Oncology for their Louisville, KY area operations. The BHMG Manager Oncology is responsible for the execution of practice operations at assigned Baptist Health Oncology location(s) throughout the community. This position is also responsible for effective communications with physicians, patients and practice staff and effective management of service-line financial performance, maintaining emphasis on Service Excellence. Working with the Regional Director of Operations, the Manager Oncology has shared responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the outpatient clinic locations as assigned. This position collaborates and consults with senior hospital management and BHMG management staff regarding a variety of legal, regulatory, human resources, financial and operational issues. Position often requires daily interaction with employed physicians, site management and staff. Some travel is necessary in this position. Also works with management and executives outside of the corporation including; insurance brokers, workers compensation managed care organizations, employers, community groups, labor groups, etc. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Executes and oversees all aspects of assigned medical practices/operations, including development and implementation of policies and procedures.
- Knowledgeable of physician contracts and methodologies.
- Works with leadership and Finance to create annual budget and manages practice budgets.
- Responsible for front end revenue cycle process (collections, eligibility, charge entry).
- Knowledgeable of third-party payer contracts and effect on practice operations and financial performance.
- Leads the monthly Practice Operations Council (POC) meetings with providers and practice managers.
- Plans, implements, and evaluates program effectiveness, efficiency and quality of service.
- Ensures that all care given and the correspondence concerning the patient is completed in a timely and efficient manner.
- Maintains a working relationship with designated Baptist Hospital specialist groups. Maintains current knowledge of legislative issues such as HIPAA, CLIA, JCAHO, State Licensure, OSHA, etc.
- Assists Director of Operations in planning and implementation of future operations including business plan development, executive summary, market research, etc.
- Acts as a liaison with Baptist Health's Human Resources department. Makes recommendations with regard to staffing levels, educational and experience capabilities of staff, supervises staff, etc.
Minimum Education, Experience, Training, and Licensures/Certifications/Registrations Required:
- Minimum of BA/BS. Healthcare or Business related field preferred.
- Oncology experience preferred.
- 3-5 years management experience preferably in medical practice operations
- Practice management software experience and competency preferred
- Basic understanding of financial systems (budgets, income statements, A/R) Excellent interpersonal communications skills
