Summary of Job Duties:The Director for Workforce Communities will manage organizational-wide events and initiatives in support of the recognition celebrations for each month designed to highlight the uniqueness of our employees' backgrounds, UAMS Project Search, SEED program and UAMS Serves. The position will have internal and external facing responsibilities, including client and project management (e.g., framing of key approaches, high quality client services, configuration of institutional processes). This position may interact with senior- level management personnel and Deans, Directors, Department Chairs, faculty, staff, and other University constituencies. The incumbent manages, plans, and develops programs and events. The position incumbent interacts with professional colleagues and actively participates in professional organizations. Duties are performed with the goal of continually pursuing the University's mission as established by senior leadership with a strong perspective on the impact on employees. Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field plus three (3) years of relevant experience in the following areas: Event management and administration; knowledge of workforce communities and representation; experience with volunteer/community service programs.

  • Strong organizational and communication skills.

  • Intermediate Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PPT and Outlook).

  • The ability to travel to multiple locations within Little Rock and sometimes the state of Arkansas, requires a valid Driver's License, automobile insurance and reliable transportation: state travel reimbursement applies.

Additional Information:

Responsibilities:

  • Serves as business liaison for UAMS Project SEARCH.

  • Design, develop, and creates committees that bring together employees with common experiences to enhance their engagement. Position will be responsible for actively recruiting members and ensuring agenda and organizational presence.

  • Serves as liaison for staff veterans, disability, and other subcommittees. Collaborates and is a resource for subcommittee members to provide a variety of speakers, events, and conversations to raise awareness of uniqueness represented by our workforce and student population.

  • Manages, organizes, and coordinates monthly employee recognition celebrations which highlight different committee constituents. Ensures monthly campus communications highlighting monthly events.

  • Responsible for the awareness and submission of applications for Higher Education Excellence in Diversity (HEED) and Higher Education Institution (HEI) programs.

  • Effectively ensures proper administration and recordkeeping of programs.

  • Affirmative Action Program (AAP) development, compliance, and monitoring to include working with division leaders and performing any related trainings, as needed to ensure forward movement with the plan.

  • Working with employees and leaders to performing ADA interactive meetings under the direction of the campus ADA Coordinator.

  • Provides assistance, as needed, with Title VII investigations.

  • Working with the Leader of SEED program, markets program enrolls participants, and ensures co-hort groups have qualified leaders. May be called upon to lead sessions as necessary.

  • Effectively ensures proper administration and recordkeeping of program.

  • Develops and manages program to track community service hours for UAMS employees.

  • Works with community programs to help identify community service needs and serves as the liaison with UAMS employees to help identify volunteer opportunities.

  • Manages, organizes and coordinate a monthly award program to recognize employee achievement in community service.

  • Effectively ensures proper administration and recordkeeping of program.

  • Other duties as assigned.
