Compliance and Risk Assessment Specialist (Allentown, PA)

We are seeking a Compliance and Risk Assessment Specialist to join the APCI Federal Credit Union team. This position ensures compliance with all regulatory agencies and laws, manages risk assessments, and oversees the credit union's information security programs. You will collaborate with senior leaders and ensure that compliance procedures are updated and communicated effectively throughout the organization.

Key Job Responsibilities:

Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies and laws, and suggest improvements for compliance policies, procedures, and disclosures. Manage compliance, risk assessment, and information security programs, including staff communication and training. Maintain awareness of industry trends, regulations, and operational issues affecting APCI FCU. Update or create risk assessments and policies for areas such as BSA, OFAC, internal operations, information security, and business continuity. Collaborate as a member of the cybersecurity team. Work with various departments to investigate and resolve external or internal fraud in partnership with senior leadership. Maintain ongoing communication with the Chief Compliance and Lending Officer (CCL) regarding relevant issues and developments. Ensure confidentiality of non-public information in accordance with policies and procedures. Perform other duties and projects as assigned by the APCI FCU President/CEO or CCL.

Minimum Job Requirements:
  • Education: An Associate's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Compliance, or a related field is preferred. A Bachelor's degree, MBA, CFSA, CFE, CRCM, NCCO, NCRM, or related qualifications are advantageous.

  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience in compliance or risk assessments within a financial institution is required. Experience with credit unions is an added advantage.

  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of credit union or bank regulations. The ability to interpret and explain complex laws and regulations in a clear, simplified manner.

  • Skills: Excellent verbal, written, and group communication skills. Proficiency in reading, analyzing, and interpreting financial laws and regulations.

  • Collaboration: Ability to build and maintain relationships with staff, management, auditors, and vendors.
